Hi there,
I am officially starting Atkins on Sunday- My husband's 27th birthday is tomorrow and I want to enjoy one last piece of rich cake before I embark on my weight loss journey for the last time in my life.
I have always been a big girl- and I mean always ( weight problems started when I was 8 yrs old). In grade 11/12 I developed an eating disorder and lost about 51 pounds in 1 year- I snapped out of my destructive behaviour and managed to develop healthier eating habits. When I reached my 20's- the stress of trying to live on my own and make something of myself combined with birth control hormones, caused me to gain weight again- I reached 220lbs again at the age of 23- I needed to do something.
Prior to becoming pregnant last year- I was 30lbs away from my goal weight and had been loosly following the South Beach Diet for about a year and a bit.
I had my first child 7 months ago and gained 65 pounds during my pregnancy. I managed to gain another 30 after he was born, due to stress and generally just eating when I got a chance- not making the best decisions all the time.
Right now I weigh 296 and my blood pressure is 160/90 (I am very highstrung-luckily my son is helping me with that). My doctor is fully on board with me making the jump into a new "weigh" of life and eating! My current eating habit aren't that bad- it's just the sugar junkie that creeps up on me everyday!
MY best friend is currently on Atkins for the second time -she stopped while pregnant and gained all the weight back- she had previously lost 80lbs! So has my Aunt- so I know that if you stick with it-it works magic!!! My husband is fully committed to cooking me gourmet Atkins food (he's a chef)- so I am pretty set, as long as I can stay away from sugar. I have spent the last week gradually decreasing the amount of bread and fruit I consume and have been staying clear of sugar. I am so ready for this it's not funny.
I welcome any tips and would love to hear your stories too!
Thanks...
these are recent pis of me- taken in in the last month, as well as today.
I have posted again with pics of me before my massive gain and during my last month of my pregnancy- I gave birth to a 10 pound baby boy who was 21 inches long!! No wonder I was so big!
