  • Low-Carb is the ONLY way to go!

I started LC-ing on June 16th, 2006 at 314 lbs and completely NOT in control over my eating and weight.. Fast forward a year and a month later and I am a much happier 156 lbs. and finally at a HEALTHY weight. It's amazing how much Atkins can do for us people who have never been able to lose weight any other way. I will admit, I am a carboholic and always will be. What can I say? I look forward to reading more about everyone and learning from each other.

    My before and now pics:

Good work, please share with us how you did it, and any juicy tips and hints that you can pass on.

          Thanks guys...

I concocted my own version of low-carb after doing a month of strict induction. I started counting calories and capping them at 1200 a day in addition to keeping my carbs low.. less than 20 a day for a while and then allowing up to 30 or 40 or so off and on. I have had a cheat-free year and I think that helped also because a slip-up would have set me back I'm sure. I am now plateauing but as long as I don't gain, I am fine without losing another pound. Maintanance is A LOT more stressful than losing was, I don't know why! Anyone have any insight into this??

I agree maintaining is so much harder, I think its due to complacency. I'm sort of in the same boat.

You truly are an inspiration. I have had such a hard time trying to do Atkins.
I don't even want to tell you how many times I have tried.... It's success and people like you that really prove to me that it really can be done and that anyone can do it if they tried hard enough.

You have just inspired me to keep going on. Great job!!!!

                          Thank you for your pictures!
