          Any more tips?

Can you post your sample menus?

Did you keep to the ratio of 65% fat etc?

          What exercise did you do?

What does it feel like to have lost all that weight?

Go on, inspire me, I weigh 341 and am very miserable!

Firstly, congratulations on your impressive loss
You are a posterchild for the low carb way of eating.

Secondly, I see you only did Atkins for a month then worked out your own lowcarb WOE. How did you go about adding more variety of carbs? Did you follow the OWL ladder or just add the things you missed most?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I concocted my own version of low-carb after doing a month of strict induction. I started counting calories and capping them at 1200 a day in addition to keeping my carbs low.. less than 20 a day for a while and then allowing up to 30 or 40 or so off and on. I have had a cheat-free year and I think that helped also because a slip-up would have set me back I'm sure. I am now plateauing but as long as I don't gain, I am fine without losing another pound. Maintanance is A LOT more stressful than losing was, I don't know why! Anyone have any insight into this??
                Marta

You had me thinking over night. You mentioned that you are are finding maintenance a lot harder than losing weight but are unsure as to the reasons for it.

I think it has something to do with the fact that you didnt go through all of the Atkins stages correctly. You did a clean induction, but did you go through all of the relevent rungs of OWL? Did you find out what your CCL was? If not this could be a reason for finding the maintenance bit trickier. Going through and following Atkins to the letter actually helps you know exactly how to eat for the rest of your life. That could be where you slipped up.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

                    Richard,

I believe that you may be correct, unfortunately! I devised my own thing early on and although it worked well, I didn't really find out how many carbs/fats I could have to lose and, then, maintain.. I have been going between 2 lbs in the last few weeks and that's fine with me, but i'd like to eventually lose another 6 lbs. just to be unfer 150 as I don't ever recall being there. For me, it's a number thing.. I may have to start working out again as I haven't in a few months because I got busy.. that may also be hindering me.. I was never good at exercise, barely did it even when I did do it, but I KNOW how important it is.

Do/did most of you exercise regularly?

I tend to agree with Richt's post. Although some (not all) people do lose when tweaking the Atkins rules to some extent, my feeling is it's always better to take the safe road and follow the plan to a "T". It's a wonderfully worked out way of eating that has helped so very many... why change it?

I think you'll find that if you go through the rungs as per the programme and add in that all important exercise, you'll be even more successful than you already have been and shed those last 6lbs with ease.

It took me so long to reply because I fell out of my chair and knocked myself out when I saw your pics. I am all better now and posting to let you know that you are amazing. How wonderful you must feel. Good luck with your last 6 lbs. Let us know how that goes for you. If you were able to find and exercise buddy, that helps a ton.
