Re: My Before and After backwards..?

I went through the induction flu. I think most people do, but once you get past it, you are pretty much right as rain. I hope you get to feeling better.

Sorry to hear you're feeling horrid. That's a bummer... but, it's such a shame that you have to interrupt the plan when you were off to such a great start. Couldn't you keep with it and have lots of soup and things, to soothe your throat?
Many doctors are anti Atkins, which is a great shame. Research carefully before taking advice you might regret.

Anyway... I really hope you get better very soon and hop back on the wagon.

Re: My Before and After backwards..?

Doctors only repeat the same old crap that was a faulty hypothesis to begin with. In fact, they call Atkins a "fad diet", when in reality the low fat/high carbohydrate diet they promote, is really the "fad diet". A low carb diet has been how people have eaten for hundreds of years, and as early as the mid 1800's was known as the diet to go on, in order to control weight. It wasn't until the 1960's that low fat diets that were higher in carbohydrates came into being. Since that time, with such wonderful inventions as HFCS-55, better known as high fructose corn syrup, we have seen our average consumption of sugar increase per capita by 150%, and seen increased levels of obesity, not less. So, which one is the "fad"? The one that God intended for us to use that has been around for thousands of years, or the one in the last 50 years that the government pyramid promotes? Gee, I wonder how Adam and Eve ever survived without the USDA to guide them! OK, I'll get off my soapbox now! You can tell this kind of stuff, just drives me nuts.

You know how to do it and I am sure that you will get there again. I am a two timer, well actually a three timer myself. This time however I learned that it isn't just a diet it really is a way of living. In fact last night we were at a function and there was pecan pie. After declining on the pie, the hostess said, "You don't need to lose anymore weight do you?" I said no. Then she asked, "well aren't you ever going to enjoy something like pecan pie ever again?" My answer was a simple "no, I have learned that I have a reaction to certain foods, so I avoid them because of what they do to my digestive system."
