  • Day one and my big fat *** !

    Ok i am beginning my Induction today. I am 237 pounds and according to the weight-height chart i should be between 124 - 138. So i guess i need to loose around 100 pounds ! My biggest problem area is my belly !!! I am starting my diet today and will also exercise on my treadmill and will start the dry brushing routine as well. Posting my pics here to shame myself into sticking to the diet ! LOL Wish me luck and hopefully a thinner pic in 14 days !

      Welcome to this great forum.. and congratulations for taking the first step towards a healthier you. I am sure you will lose those pounds with Atkins. I almost have the same body shape and I noticed a shrinkage in my belly in a matter of 2 weeks. Good luck to all of us.

        Welcome aboard, Twinkie! I regret not taking pictures when I first started. Actually, I still haven't taken any because I don't have a digital camera (or picture phone). You can do it! Since you're planning on losing 100 pounds you should come join us in the Century Club forum.

              Welcome, you can do great on the Way of Eating/Life. Stop on by and check out the Century Club.

              What I know:
              1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
              2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
              3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
              4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

                  Hi Twinkie! I understand the belly issue, I've got the same issue...plus mine has icky loose skin and stretch marks to go along with it lol...After I lose this weight, I'm getting a tummy tuck! lol

                  Anyways the belly tends to go down really quickly at first because you lose a lot of water weight and bloat in that area! Stick with it and in just a few days you'll notice your belly shrinking! You can do this!!!

                  This is my second serious attempt at atkins...the first time I got down to 129, 130ish and I remember it got rid of the hangy belly for the most part...so there is hope Just don't fall off the wagon like I did!

                    Thank you so much for such a sweet post. I was really bummed out thinking this belly will never shrink but your post makes me feel very hopefull. yes i am trying really hard to stay motivated. I work nights and life is a bit stressfull for me right now. So i have noticed that i am alone most of the time and feel depressed or concerned about something and instinctively reach for food !
                    today was my first day and i have been good so far but now it is half past mid night, i am alone at my job and already seen so many emails full of depressing stuff and god i want to drive to mcdonalds and get some apple pies right now !!! LOL Your post came at the right time !! I am going to dig in my purse for some cheese and snack on it to stay on my diet.

                        I work nights and on my days off like tongith I up all alone because everybody else is asleep lol...but I come on here for an extra push if I'm feelin down or better yet look at my own before pics(yuck) lol anyway u can do it!! I myslef had a bigg belly starting out and still need some work but its going slowly but surly!! and urs well too!! good luck on ur weight loss and just remember were all in this together!!!

                          Glad I could help! I understand the stress and depression...that's what got me to this weight in the first place...but I know I feel better when I'm on this WOE. Once you're in ketosis, you'll feel a lot more in control and the cravings will subside. There is a wonderful moderator on this site named Sherri, and she suggested to me to take a supplement called L-glutamine to help with the cravings. Its an amino acid...you can probably find it at walmart. I take a 500mg pill twice a day with food, and I swear its really helping keep my cravings down!

                          As for the tummy I don't remember it EVER being perfect lol. But it definately went down a lot to the point where I could wear normal underwear without that horrible overlapping going on...it was still mushy and ugly but atleast the hanginess was gone! The mushiness and stretch marks and all that I plan to have surgically removed as a treat for myself, probably when I turn 30, because I'm sure I wont be able to afford it until then hehehe. But I must say yours doesn't look as awful as mine...I think yours will shrink down ok!

                              Welcome Twinkie. I am sure you can do it. Don't look back, go forward each day with determination and a plan to succeed. I've lost over 100 pounds and the belly does shrink - as well as everything else) Exercise, drink water and eat on plan and you will definitely have great progress pics to show in 14 days! You can do it, we're all here for you!
