Re: Newbie slowly shrinking away - 41lbs down
Thanks again to all who have posted! You all cheer me along making this journey that much easier!
Heiricka - at first I didn't do much exercising at all, aside from some light stuff on the Wii Fit. But in June or July I joined a Jazzercise class and have been going 2-3 days a week. It is wonderful fun and has such a diverse group of people; old, young, thin, heavy. Most of the moves have a low and high immpact version so you work out at the level you want to while enjoying lots of music, friendship, and fun dance moves (and toning!). Some moves, when I got more comfortable with them, I increased to the higher impact version. Some of them I am still on low impact versions (the jumpy moves are a little hard on my chest).
Another thing, which might not be much, is that in September we moved into a house. It's a two story. It's the only non-one story building I'm in all day. My office/glass studio and bedrooms are upstairs, everything else is downstairs. So, I'm up and down those stairs many times a day. It's just a little bit extra exercise, but every bit helps.
Another thing I hope to add soon (when it's not so hot here in So. Florida) is the bike. My sis gave me her old bike because she had knee surgery and is not allowed to ride anymore. It has bad tires right now but once replaced I have a huge neighborhood and close shopping that I can start riding to. My Dbf and I only have one car, so on weekends when he has the car out fishing or something, I can use the bike to do my errands instead of waiting for him to get back.
