I'm going to Hawaii (finally)!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be going to Hawaii! And I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that the trip is in December so I have more time to lose weight! I have been wanting to go all my life really. The trip is going to be a week-long trip and the hotel is paid for. I am jumping out of my skin I’m so excited. So I’ve buckled down even more and need to get bathing suit ready : )
What an awesome motivator! Everyone, if you need motivation – plan a “bathing suit” tropical trip for 7-12 months from now. Its working for me : )

Well I think we are going to be on the Big Island. We've been "given" a timeshare and there is one on Maui and one of the Big Island, but I'm not entirely sure which one we will be using.

My roommate has been there quite a lot (because she was dating a Native Hawaiian) and she loves it. She's brought a lot of Hawaiian culture into our lives : ) and just made me even more excited to go and visit such a beautiful place.

I went to Hawaii a few yrs ago and it was ok but nothing exciting but then again it could have been because of the wife I had then....lol

It has always been my mothers dream to go to Hawaii, she has never been anywhere other than a few Canadian family vacations and a trip into South Dakota once. We are taking her next April so we have lots of time to tone our bods and get them beach worthy. Mom is a low carber and all but cured her Fibromyalgia by following the Atkins plan. She is stoked! We will be staying in Maui and rented a private home in Wailea and it has its own pool and hot tub, very nice. I know that Maui is fairly tame compared to the other islands as far as activities goes, but we still managed to find lots of things to do when we go, The Hana hgwy excursion, the Feast at LeLe and the Luau at Lahaina (I think it is) a dinner cruise, a submarine sealife trip. It all sounds very lovely and commercial, but if anyone knows some off the beaten path things to do and see, please let us know. Maybe a nice restaurant that the locals like to eat at? Tell all..... :yes

You'll have fun! I just returned from 8 days there. I followed the WOE while I was there but gave in and had too many Pina Colada's...Needless to say that I restarted when I came back and it's been successful thus far. Hawaii is beautiful, the most scenic place I've ever seen!!!!!!!!

Thank you guys for adding to my excitement (with the exception of Montana! :sadblinky ) I am excited! And it is definitely a great GOAL to work towards. I have exactly 7 months until I go….so I’m going to keep working hard at it!

You didn't steal my thread, I think the majority of people would get excited about Hawaii too! Esp. if they haven't been.

The other REALLY COOL thing about the trip is that my cousin who has been serving in Iraq for almost a year is going to be there!!!!!

It will be awesome to see him and hang out!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just praying that he stays safe until then!!!! :hug

I am also going to Hawaii in October. That has been my motivation for sticking to the diet and exercising. I am going to the Big Island. We will have to compare notes.

I'm also going to Hawaii over Christmas vacation. My sister and I are going to Honolulu and Maui. I've been struggling since October with this WOE so after school gets out tomorrow I'm going to kick it into gear. My goal is to be totally buff by the end of November. I can't wait.

Congratulations. I am so happy for you. I lived on Oahu for 3 1/2 years and loved every minute of it. It is beautiful and the fun in the sun never ends. We had beach parties for every occassion and sat on the beach at night watching the sun go down over the ocean. I'll never forget it.
