on Maui go see the Ocean Center...really well done aquarium...as far as restaurants I would recommend Haliimalie General Store http://www.haliimailegeneralstore.com/

the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere and you will think you are lost but trust me it's worth the trip...stop in Pukalani or Makawao on your way there...some great little shops and cafes too.

oh and if you want to start listening to some nice hawaiian music before your trip...look up Kealii Reichel or the Brothers Cazimero on Amazon...
