Hi. I am new to this board...excited to be a member.
I'm on day 3 of Atkins...I'm in ketosis but my blood sugar is still registering at 325? What is going on?
I do have diabetes, I was on insulin last year for about a month, but I ended up gaining about 20 pounds, so I quit the insulin and lived a lie.
Last weekend, after spotting myself in a mirror in a restraunt and not recognizing myself I finally decided to get healthy. I am eating well below 30 carbs a day but my blood sugar is high. Is this right? My blood sugar meter is new, so I don't think it is to blame...I'm not on any meds that would mess with my blood sugar. I thought only carbs elevated blood sugar...or do I just have so much sugar in me that it will take time to decrease.
Thanks for your help, I look forward to traveling this journey with you all.

I just have to remember...one day, one hour, one second, one breath, one heartbeat at a time...I can do this!
