  • What Vitamins does Everyone Take

    Ok, I am a bit crazy I will admit it and I take like 15 pills per day in the form of vitamins. Good news is since I have been doing this I have felt better and have not been sick with anything so I'm gunna keep doing it. You are all gunna crap when you see what I take every day.

    Flax Seed oil soft Gels
    Vitamin E
    Vitamin C
    Vitamin B6
    Vitamin B-50
    Chromium
    Calcium with Vitamin D
    Atkins Basic 3
    Garlic
    Magnesium
    Zinc

    I think that's all at least I hope so I ahve to take them all after lunch cause I take thyroid in the moning and I don't want the vits to interfere with them.

    Good lord Anyone as crazy as I am, one thing good is I have to drink a liter of water just to down all the pills. LOL

    You are not as crazy as you think you are lol!

    I def don't take that many, I just take a really good multivitamin with green tea extract and other stuff. That is twice daily. then I take added B complex vitamins.

      Some days I look at the handful adn think Oh, my god WHat am I dooing then I jsut shut my eyes and swallow them 1 by one. I am crazy LOL but, a good crazy I got the yellow Pee to prove it LOL

          Just as an aside, in case there are those who are skeptical of the benefits of vitamins/supplements .. for several days last week I didn't take the vits (forgot ...) and I couldn't finish my typical 8 mile run on those days. So yes, there are definite advantages for taking vitamins!!!

            I love your photos, Iyamamaschke.

            I take Centrum, 1500mg of Citracal+D calcium citrate (never calcium carbonate), 800 mcg Folic Acid, 5 mg Biotin, Vitamin A (Beta Carotene), 50mg B-6, 1,000 IU non-synthetic Vitamin E, fish oils, and 2000 mg of Vitamin C. I also take 1 tablespoon Vitamin Shoppe Psyllium Husk Powder and either add it to melted peanut butter or my homemade shakes.

              Thank you Sugarfreesheila I love my kids thought I would show you the little darlings that keep me modivated to stay on track. I love them to death they are really great kids.

              I guess I am not totally crazy then I don't take as much as ttdriver yet but, I am still buying more stuff. SHould I get the Biotin I see a lot taking it would it be beneficial to me is there anything elese I should be takeing with my mega pill popping. LOL

                  I think Vitamin B is essential ... and definitely CoQ10 (altough its not cheap, its a very important vitamin) if you need help with cholesterol, flush free niacin is quite effective, along with the fish oils and garlic.
                  Chromium helps stabilize the blood sugar levels. Biotin helps the hair and nails (my hair grows about 1 and a half inches a month!!) :yikes
                  Green tea extract speeds up the metabolism (for me, anyway).

                  After reading Dr. Atkins Vita Nutrient Solution, that's how I decided what I needed to take. Yep, I keep Walmart's vitamin shelves restocked!!

                    I take just a simple mix...I can't take a lot of herbal stuff (even garlic) because it interferes with my blood thinners.

                    GNC's Ultra Mega for Women, iron free
                    Calcium
                    Potassium - which I'm weaning myself off to see if the cramps return. If they do, I'll go back on it, if they don't, then thats one less pill to take.
                    I took Chromium for almost a year, but felt I probably was over the bigtime cravings so I weaned off of it as well.

                      I'm just taking a Multi vitamin with Panax Ginseg...

                      What foods on this Extended Induction gives a good dose of Potassium? When I read the heart papitration (sp?) post I got a bit nervous as I am experiencing them at times....

                        I just went looking for Centrum Silver but the pharmacy I was in did not have it so I bought the Atkins Basic 3 vitamins. They were on sale and cheaper then many of the other brands that were on the shelves.

                          WOW everyone takes a lot of vitamins. I don't have it in my budget to get the coQ10 but would like to. I don't have problems with Cholesterol so I guess what I have right now is A ok far as I can see. Good to know I am not the only pill popper here.

                            Yeah and for you vitamin/supplement skeptics out there....here's some firsthand experience I had last week ..

                            We were painting the interior of our home over the 3-day weekend and I didn't realize I had neglected to take my vits for 2 days .. well, on Monday, I tried to run 8 miles and, for the first time ever, I couldn't finish the run ... I was so weak and drained, even though the temps and humidity were about par ...

                            Anyway, I got back on track taking everything and was able to finish out the week strong at 35 miles completed.

                            YES, VITAMINS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

                              Why would it be crazy to take do something that makes you feel healthier?

                              I only take a regular ole muti vitamin and a calcium suppliment, but after reading all the info here about the benifits of different vits...maybe I should be taking more!!
