  • Low-Carb Variations - Any success?

I have decided to alter my eating habits and follow more closely a low-carb way of life...AGAIN. After making some changes, I already feel much better and now remember why I loved this WOE so much. I have felt LOUSY for a year, which is about as long as I have been off this WOE. I thought perhaps there was a connection, so I have made some changes.

I have not gone back to induction because I don't think I can go through that again, especially with a trip overseas coming up. I am eating more like I did when I "left off" the first time I was on the Atkins WOE.

Perhaps my changes are more along the lines of the South Beach Diet, but I am really not that familiar with that plan.

My question is this: has anyone followed a low-carb WOE that is not strictly Atkins or any other plan out there and been successful? Can a person lose weight without going through all the stages but rather by simply eliminating refined carbs?

Maybe you should check down in the Low carb dieting other than atkins forum to see what they have to say down there. http://atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/viewforum.php?f=11

There are plenty of low carb diets on the book shelves: Hampton's Diet and Carbohydrate Addicts Diet are a couple.

I suggest that you borrow these books and others from your public library and read up on them.

I've found that cutting the high glycemic index carbs out is 90% of the battle. 100 grams of carbs from complex sources isn't nearly as bad for you as like white flour or sugar carbs.
