I agree with you Brook. When I go through my yoga exercises, my heart rate increases faster and I break into a sweat faster than when I do my miles. It looks easy, but it ain't!~Megs~

Re: YOGA Anyone??
The only kind of yoga I could ever see myself doing is Bikram, because it is rather intense due to the heat of the room. I tried it a couple of years ago and really liked it!Sheila, Founder of SugarFreeSheila.com

Re: YOGA Anyone??
Pilates shares some of the same principles as yoga and tai chi. I have an old back injury, pilates puts a strain on my back so I can't do it. Other people, however, find their back problems improved by it.~Megs~

Re: YOGA Anyone??
I've tried Pilates; and I work my core muscles rigorously on my exercise ball (I love that thing!Originally posted by kkat55I hear people talking about Pilates strengthening their "core" muscles. Betty, you ever try that?
). Yoga would give me even more core strength, I think!! Can one EVER have too much core strength?

Re: YOGA Anyone??
I love Yoga and also Pilates (although I agree the latter can be a bit rough on the back) Yoga is so good for stress reduction-I have even taught our four kids yoga breathing so when they are stressed or bickering, they can use it to chill*~Heather~*

Re: YOGA Anyone??
I took a yoga class when I was 21. It kicked my butt! I was all shakey with muscle fatigue afterwards and SOOOOOORE the next day! Yoga is definitely tough!
I do pilates 5 times a week. I love it! I went from not being able to complete one sit-up (C-section last year) to doing 20 crunches in 3 weeks. Pilates was a great way for me to work up to doing more vigorous exercising. I am very out of shape. I started with the Pilates For Dummies video. I found it an excellent way to start out.

- If they're saying yoga isn't tough and strength/endurance/flexibility building, it's cuz they haven't TRIED it.
