    Looks like Atkins to me!

It might be a woman's diet too, but for different reasons!

But I stand by what I said:

    It's a man's diet.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
    he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Thanks, I sent that link to my DH. Very interesting and I'm sure he will appreciate it. In my opinion, you don't need to lose any more weight! Well done!

Sounds like male chauvenism (AGAIN) to me. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
How do you explain the improvements in female issues like PCOS, infertility, etc, normal menstrual cycles, less PMS, etc., after being on Atkins? All I know is, this may be a man's "diet", but its a woman's LIFESTYLE.

          Gad I hate sexism.

            O Betty

It might just be down to the simple and factual point that males and females are different.

And it *might* be that a low carb diet benefits males and females in slightly different ways and for different reasons.

I say "Might" and I say it with a smile

As I write a discussion has just ended on BBC Rado 4 about a new drug targeted at preventing a type of heart disease prevelant in African-Americans. This cuts across so much political correctness the statistical analysis of the test is under serious challenge.

I find no difficulty in accepting that those born of different gene pools should be susceptable to different disorders.

The argument is the same - men and women are different. Redheads and Blondes can tolerate the sun much less than those with darker skins. So whats the big deal? Doesn't mean race or gender has a bearing on any individuals worth.

And now I have opened a can of worms!

Now *that* I agree with.... We ALL benefit from eliminating refined carbs and sugar from our lives and exercising!!

Atkins is UNIVERSALLY UNISEX!!! It works for EVERYONE!

No offense, Labarum .. your success speaks for itself as does mine and many others on this board!

Re: Achieved my teenage weight today!

I agree, Betty, Atkins does indeed work for women too. It's just that there are some added incentives for men to low-carb, according to that article and I think that is what he was pointing out. Labarum likes to think of it as a man's diet as a result. However, we all know women love it too and it works for us! Hey, it can make us more frisky too!
