Just popping in tonight to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day! I hope you're having fun and eating healthy.

We plan to grill some rib-eyes tomorrow and I haven't decided on the veggies yet to go with it.

    Happy Holiday!

So, all my life I thought I was 5'8". I went about a year ago to Emory for info on stomach reduction surgery (husband was interested, but I put my name in the hat, too). When they measured me, I was very sad to learn that I'm 5'7". Not sure if I was wrong all along, or I shrunk. As you can see from my signature, I'm not yet admitting it officially. My weight feels slightly more acceptable with that extra inch to spread it over... not to mention that fact that with one less inch, I probably need a lower goal weight.

(giggle) You're so funny! It is something how one inch can affect us so much. I can agree with you. If I found out I was 5'6" instead, I'd be a little disappointed for some reason. I don't know why...just would. But, at other times I would have liked to have been shorter when I was dating. It is hard to wear high heels and date a guy under six foot. It just didn't feel right even when they were so nice.

Hope you're having a nice evening. Great things are in store for us this holiday if we just keep on keeping on!!

I have always wanted to be a little shorter, actually, so 5'7" is fine from that perpsective. But not as long as I have all this extra weight to distribute!

And you'r right about the guys, Kat.... I always wanted to date the big dumb jocks... they were the only ones who made me feel small. In retrospect, no offense meant to hubbie, I probably should have paid more attention to the nerdy, smart, string-bean guys...

Okay, it's time. I'm changing my signature. My name is Adena, and I'm 5'7"!

              Hello Adena who is 5"7"!

Well, as that old saying goes..."you can't judge a book by its cover..." Sometimes those guys may turn out to be the best husbands. You just never know. Men always get better looking as they get older anyway -- so you could have a jewel in the rough with most of the guys in high school.

i set my goal weight at 145lbs but as i close in on it i find it very hard to get there and lose those last 15 or so pounds. i won't be disappointed if i don't reach 145, it was just a goal i set because i felt that was a good weight for me. truth is i'm in really good shape and not really considered "fat" anymore. i'm just trying to lose a little bit more weight and work off the areas that could use better attention. while you should set a goal that is reasonable there is no harm in setting a slightly harder goal, it just might make you work that much harder to accomplish it.

I'm 5'7 and I've set my goal weight at 140. I guess I've chosen that number since I stayed pretty steady at 135 up until 2 years ago, when I went above 200. I may decide to go back to 135 when I get closer...of course, with 76 pounds to lose, I'm not really worried about those last 5 right now.

Anyway, I'm really just starting out. Today is my last day of induction, so I'll do my first weigh in since starting tommorow morning. I'm getting excited. I had my hubby hide the scale for the past two weeks...it'll be like Christmas morning tommorow when I have him get it out for me. I wonder if he'll get mad if I wake him at 6 am?

Welcome everyone to the 5'7" club!

Isn't interesting how we all have different goals...yet are the same height?

I am medium boned and I haven't really set a goal weight yet. Mostly mini-goals until I get close to where I was in my 20's.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

...And I hope you each find a challenge to join to help you achieve your health/weight loss goals. This way of eating and exercise seems to be the key.

                            Best wishes!
