Re: What is/was your motivation for losing weight?

Well, at my ripe old age of 44, I think it's time I found myself. I know I'm in there somewhere, but some fat chick is sitting right on me and she makes it hard to want to dance or sing, or run around and play and be silly.

Vanity (wanna be cute again), possibility of being diabetic one day (dad had it), health, those kiddie chairs at parent/teacher interviews, being there for my family - these were all the main reasons I decided to get into gear initially, but I think (thanks Cleo for making me think) another key thing is, I want to have fun again and when you can hardly breathe and you look old and all your clothes are matronly looking because that's the only kind that fit - well, it's hard. So I'm off to find me a skinny-girl!

        pumpkin--
        5. CONTROL: Somehow I've recognized that knowing I can control what I put in my mouth spreads to greater control over my life. In the past and even now, when I've controlled my diet and exercise, it has made me feel more in control and know that I can reach any goal I set for myself.
AMEN! And by your stats, I see you rock this woe!

Reveal-- I love your take on clothing boredom! I never thought about that before, but you are so right! It's a choice between a few pairs of fat pants, and they're all about the same. *lol* I love the tick analogy, too! I love your way with words.

soliwit-- If it's all the same to you, thank YOU for taking the time to divulge yourself here. Do you know how many people you're helping?

<------ This is me being so helped!

LadyinRed! You go find that skinny girl! I know she's in there. She had on the cutest shoes too. My skinny girl always has toilet paper trailing from hers.

Re: What is/was your motivation for losing weight?

            1) I thought I was going to see my college boyfriend at a wedding (The wedding was on 09/23/05 and he couldn’t come at the last minute (got stuck at work) I was sooo relived) I’ve lost 25 lbs but I didn’t want to see my college boyfriend right now! (please don’t think I’m pathetic : )

            2) Health. Both of my parents had major health concerns later in life. I want to be as healthy as I can as long as I can!

            3) Life. I love to go skiing, hiking, snowboarding, horseback riding, roller coaster riding, traveling, swimming, snorkeling, sky diving etc etc etc and I can’t do these things (or without great effort) while I’m fat. I’m missing out on doing these things that I LOVE to do because I didn’t care about myself and let myself get fat. I want to do all of these things again and not worry about whether I’m going to fit in the seat or if I’m too heavy to do them.

            4) Vanity. I wanted to look better.

            5) Dating. I wanted to date again.
