    Re: Weight-loss stall?? -- try this

    Welcome to ADBB! and the General forum where we discuss all aspects of the Atkins Diet.

    Key word here being "Atkins".

    May I strongly suggest to those involved in this thread that it would be much better received at our sister board www.lowcarbbulletinboard.com.

    That is now the place where we discuss all low carb dieting! A great place and now would be a wonderful time to check it out!

      Finelly, YOU ROCK! Your posts are an inspiration for me (funny how these things work ). Don't ever change your style...

      By the way, I LOVE the low-carb bars and have been having one a day for the last 8 months. But I only have one per day. In the end, it's all about moderation and knowing your limits. Everything else I eat is natural. So call me a half-frankenfood kind of guy!

          It's funny you mentioned that. I spent last week in Cuba (!.HOT.!) where I did not have any access to the bars. When I came back, I had no urge to have them at all. However, I had 6 of them left so I did take one to work today. I just might ditch them when this batch finishes. It's just that they make a semi-sensible snack in the morning when the ol' tummy is feeling empty and I'm running around at work...

          As a complete aside, I ate like a pig in Cuba, upping my meal intake significantly. However, I never strayed from the good stuff like meats and cheeses, did not have a single pina colada ( ), or any dessert. When I came back I decided to check the damage on the scale, and I was SHOCKED to see that I was 3 pounds lighter. This was when I knew that I was in love with this WOE beyond any shadow of a doubt.

          Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this topic...

            It's good to hijack a stupid thread. Especially when you start a conversation about this wonderful woe, which I agree is the best thing since the invention of washable markers.

            Maybe better.

              "The very fact that someone professing to know about the Atkins woe would post messages alleging that we eat pre-packaged low-carb products is laughable and indicates a fundamental failure to ever read any of the posts on this board. We eat fresh, natural foods. Not frankenfoods."

              Laughable? You're kidding me, right? But even if that were true (that prepackaged foods are less desirable), that would only validate and reinforce my original post.

                <insert tongue in cheek>

                SP: Oh wow, you have found the key to life!

                Can you evaluate my diet? I think it needs help!

                Breakfast:
                1 low carb bar
                1 low carb tortilla
                1 prepackaged precooked egg
                1 prepackaged precooked strip of bacon

                Lunch:
                1 low carb peanut butter cup
                1 low carb shake

                Dinner:
                15 steaks
                4 low carb candy bars

                I learned to eat this way from reading Atkins. This is what he recommends. Please help!!!

                <remove tongue>

                Riiiiiight.

                  so what you are basically saying is that once you are at goal you ought to eat more fruits and veggies?
                  Well that sounds mightily like the Maintenance phase of Atkins to me!!
                  Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                    Eliz, No actually...I suggested more fruits and veggies if you're on a stall. (refer to original post)

                    By the way I looked up the Atkins pyramid food guide. Nowhere on there do I see low-carb tortillas, low-carb desserts or pre-packaged foods. Checkmate.

                    By the way, I'm not playing along with you people anymore. You whiney, frustrated, arguementative women are just an absolute beating. I need a dose of ESPN. bye

                        With that any productive thoughts on this thread is over. I am locking this thread now and wish I would have before it turned nasty and vindictive. My apologies for being slow to react.
