What they allowed to happen to Dr Atkins work out of greed and avarice is just a travesty. I feel bad for the people who will never find out about the real program and the sensible advice he gave.

Amen, tabekat! I was talking with my husband today about how the Atkins company has changed so much. The legacy that Dr Atkins worked so hard for has been reduced to a shelf filled with processed food items and a website that looked like LL Bean vomited on it.

But we are still here to carry on his legacy. ADBB is a tribute to Dr. Atkins and his work.
Well at least the Atkins library of articles is safe.

Elizellen, copying them and posting them here would be copyright infringement. But if we copy them and share them amongst ourselves, it really won't be "infringing" since we aren't posting them.
I guess what we have a recipe share group--strictly by PMs. I can sticky a thread in the Recipes/Chat section and if you want recipe atkins.com Recipe XYZ, just post "Looking for atkins.com recipe XYZ". Whoever has it can respond in the post, "I'm PMing it to you".
actually as long as you change anything in the recipe it isnot the same recipe and becomes yours at least that was what Dana Carpender told us about the recipes gotten from other places shared and posted to her hold the toast lists which she then used as part of her books. SO all we got to do is change them up a bit less salt different oil more spice less spice etc and ADBB can have them in our recipe data base.
That's the good news, wannabe! You are right! We're like the starship Andromeda, trying to hold the Commonwealth together in a sea of warring Nietschzians and Magog.

Hi there everyone. You all probably don't know me because the last time I frequented any Atkins boards was a few years ago. I gained my 30 lbs back but it was totally my fault! After I got married, I was not as strict with my eating and then it just went all downhill!
Now that I am back, I am finding it a very different world out there than it was 2 years ago. I was shocked when I went to atkins.com the other day. My grocery stores don't carry any of the low carb items I used to buy (not the franken foods but how 'bout some sugar-free ketchup!!! ). A lot of the restaurants that had some good low-carb options don't have them any more. It makes me very frustrated and sad.
I am totally committed to this WOL for the rest of my life. Even when I slipped up, I never doubted that this was the BEST way for me to eat. My belief in the program never changed...I just started making excuses.
Anyway, it just makes it that much harder for someone like me to come back to the program. I'm SO glad that you guys are out there.

although you will miss the convenient products you used to buy I am sure you will be fine.
check the recipes sections on this board for ideas on how to make your own lowcarb versions of the foods you love too.
As to eating out you may well find it isn't that hard even if fewer restaurants offer special 'Low carb' menus. Most such places these days are used to 'subbing' items from their regular menus when asked as so many people are on 'special' eating regimes . I am sure the waiting staff wont turn a hair if you ask for plain veggies or a salad in place of starchy foods.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies? Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
