Depends on what you're eating. I always found that the first few days tend to be worse than every day after that.

Yep, the first few weeks were pretty bad for me. But it's starting to get better. Not that I expect it to go away completely, but it's aliviating.

Just make sure you drink plenty of water! That helped with my urine. As for my breath, that's only started to get bad in recent days, and I've been on Atkins for a month now. So I've got a little bottle of mouthwash for when I go to work, and when I'm at home, I just feel a lot better with myself with brushing my teeth whenever I feel the need.

As Desertthorn said, welcome to Atkins lol.

I use 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed every day. Keeps things running smooth, plus it's yummylicious in my hot cereal

I had to take laxatives too. But only take them when you are really struggling! You don't know what other damage they do to you.

But it gets better. Give it a week or so and you'll be back to normal

                  Hi
I know what you mean on the poo front! It does get better though.
On the laxative front - I make a flax cracker and that does the trick (and is delicious too). Equal amounts of flax powder and water (you can get it in Holland and Barrett) say about 1 tbsp. Leave to settle/thicken for 2 mins. Spread in to cracker shape on greaseproof paper and zap for 1 min 10 secs. Turn over and zap for a further 1 min.

I tried it for about a week. The size of my stool increased so much I started to bleed.

                      Re: EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!but have to ask

                      Hey,

I guess I will chime in...I used to be a regular twice a day kinda gal until Atkins. Then, it was all gone. However, I found that now with the exercising I am doing, I am back to normal.

My sister who is not on any diet and is a pharmacist has trouble ever going and her doctor recommended that she eliminate certain things from her diet (many of the things Atkins takes away) and for her to do exercises aimed at the trunk or core of the body and she said that has helped her too.

So, drink, drink, drink and move those core muscles.

                          Re: EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!but have to ask

Oh no, this difficulty some of you are having just isn't necessary! You should be visiting the throne at least once or twice a day (3x/day is even better, in my opinion!); if you are not, perhaps a few very minor dietary modifications are in order?

Did you know that one of those 12-ounce veggie stir-fry bags contains approximately 10 grams of fiber? (For Induction followers perusing this thread: usually these bags contain all Induction-friendly veggies!) Lately, I've been on a huge stir-fry kick - chopsticks and everything.

Also, pumpkin - a food also permitted on Induction - is another thing I've been into lately. In the evenings, I'll have half a can of pumpkin, which is another 9 grams of fiber right there, with some cream cheese, ground cinnamon, some butter, and a packet of Splenda.

There are many other ways as well, such as cauliflower, green and red peppers, asparagus, zucchini, celery, cabbage, squash, mushrooms, spinach, Brussels sprouts - even green beans and cucumbers are pretty decent for fiber! After Induction, raspberries pack a lot of fiber punch, as well as blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries ... in that order.
