    Re: EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!but have to ask

I just had some nut butter as a snack! MaraNatha has been far & away my favorite brand lately; while it contains no salt and is raw and organic, it actually tastes a little salty somehow! Strawberries dipped in a few tablespoonfuls of this is great. (Hellooo, throne!)

        Re: EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!but have to ask

        Ahhh...my favorite topic...potty talk!

I think 'normal' is whatever our individual bodies want to do..whether it's once a day, once every other day or..er..3x a day.

We encourage folks to spread their veggies out through the day to help keep things moving, and I can see that some of us have found our special food that is magic for us (for me, it's sauteed peppers) so just watch what your body does.

I don't like laxatives because they just cause me pain the next day and I haven't found them to be as predictable as the package says. Mind you, I've only taken them 3 or four times in my life but what I found was the *best* thing ever was glyceryin suppositories. They're great for when you absolutely know you are ready to make your move, but your body isn't co-operating. They work usually within 15 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less...but they sure as heck do work. And they're cheap...and I'm cheap!

As for stinkiness, it's probably the extra protein. Years ago I was semi-vegetarian for a while, but I still ate chicken, and I think my poop really did smell like roses! It was sort of non-poop-like...lol
Then one day I was at a bbq and I ate a big ol' steak (yes, I know, that's pretty stupid to do after almost a year of no red meat) and the next day I had a religious experience in the bathroom...oh my goodness...lol The friend I was visiting at the time has never let me live this down...eesh...

            Re: EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!but have to ask

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my fiance' just told me about a college friend that had really stinky bm's and turned out he had bowel cancer.

I agree with the rest of the tread, but just in case, if you haven't had a checkup in a while, go see your doctor. WHY take any chances.

            To your good health

"When in doubt, check it out!" Always talk to your doctor if you have questions.

Here's a helpful link...it's geared to kids, but it's got good info

Ok, now I'm feeling slightly ill reading about all of this...lol

I remember someone told me that drinking salt water - really salty - is the best cure against constipation. But of course I can't remenber how much salt is needed etc. Maybe someone else knows. She said not only this makes you 'go' bit it also cleanes your intestines and removes waste etc etc. But I've never tried.

the salt water is also very very dangerous as it will send you into electrolyte shock.

I am glad you are ok

I dont know about any of you but I can't remember what my 'movements' were like BA - I never really noticed whether I 'went' once a day or once a week so never worry about it.

It stands to reason though that now I am not eating all that processed junk I ought to 'go' differently now!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
