  • DO you ever Feel Down On yourself for No reason?

I was just wondering if any of you experience this as well as me, I am sure that you do and others are out there that do it's rather frusturating to me. I ahve been having Problems lately ya me, I have been struggling, not with eating not with anything but, Myself, I am unsure as to why this is happening now or why I feel this way but, can only come to the conclusion that I am getting close to goal and now I am trying to sabotage myself. What's in our heads that makes us think we are just not worth the effort. I am having a Huge issue right now. I feel GROSS like the girl who used to be 285 pound. Sure I ahve more bounce to my step sure I look better but inside it's not enough. I feel more like this confident person inside but, lately it's been falling over and I really need tome help to pick her back up. What better place to come then here you are all wonderful amazing people and ya even me, ya think oh, ya she has it all figured out and I don't I struggle every single day I am struggling right now to be able to look in the mirror and accept who I see. I want to look with confidence I want to stand tall. I am sooo PROUD of MYSLEF there is no question just this little part that keep rearing it's ugly head trying to fauler my efforts.

I'll tell you what I'll do today to get through this.

I will SMILE I will Open my eyes to what I have achived looking back at my pictures.

I will get on my treadmill and run just to prove to myself that I am doing it.

I will look to my Friends on ADBB for support rather then fall down with the thought of being back to where I was.

Most of all I will Tell myself How Much I LOVE me then I will remeber how much I am worth it, how much I am worth every effort I put forth. I am worth every pair of new pants and all the things I thought could never be possible.

Most of All I will Say this to Myself I BElIEVE in MYSELF!!

Thanks you all for letting me rant I needed to get that off my chest.

Sarah, you are so inspiring! What you have accomplished and continue to accomplish is totally amazing! You have proven what a person can do if they commit 100%. Dr. Atkins is smiling down on you FOR SURE!

I am so totally proud of you. Every single day.

Sarah - we all got here by being down on ourselves. It's learning how to be positive and belive in ourselves that is digging us out of the fat we are trapped in and YOU are the very picture of that. Keep up the good work - it inspires all of us!

Oh my little cheerleader! I didn't know you were feeling down. As everyone has said....you are so inspiring. I get down on myself because I don't have that commitment that you have. I don't know where you got it from. Somewhere deep inside yourself I'm sure. Just hang in there baby-girl! There aren't many who can do what you've already done. You look great, you feel great, you're running (I'm so jealous of that!!)....you are so close to the end. Well, not the end, b/c it never ends does it. You are so close to the beginning of the rest of your life being spent as a healthy, slim person. And your kids must be so proud of you too! What a role model you are to them. Don't be down on yourself, sweetie. You're doing great!

Hey Sarah. Sometimes life throws us a curveball. You haven't been feeling well, and I'm sure that doesn't help.

I'm one of those people, that when I get sick, I get soooo depressed. I don't know what I'd do if I had a serious or chronic illness. I had a car accident a year and a half ago, and injured my back and neck, and I was so down. I fell into a slump that I wasn't sure I'd get out of.

I hope you'll start feeling better soon. Being blue is the pits

Sarah... so sorry to hear you're down in the dumps. Happens to us all at times, and it's a real bummer. But truly, your achievements are stunning. You are, and have been, a real shining light to all who read this board. You deserve the success you will certainly have.

Remember, goal is just ahead there... you can see the light at the end of the tunnel now... another little sprint is all that's needed. You'll be there before you know it.

Sending you positive vibes over the ocean on a balmy spring (in November!!!) breeze!

Do the things you said and it'll work out fine! Honestly, when I look at your progress photos from your link I'm amazed at the difference. You have lost a HUGE amount of weight, another person actually! Keep your eyes on the prize and never look back, your getting closer every day and it is worth it. Now go kick some treadmill booty!

Re: DO you ever Feel Down On yourself for No reason?

                    Hey Sarah..

I get that way too... I think most people do, no matter how well they hide it.

First thing is you gotta admit it, so WAY TO GO for that!

Next, all that crap you hear running around in your head? Would you let someone talk to your dearest friend, or your child like that? What would you say to someone who tried to speak to them that way? Would they walk away in their own power?

My guess is that you would never allow someone to trash a loved one the way you get on yourself. Read yourself the riot act for hurting someone so special and important, and the next time a negative thought comes tearing through, ask, would I let someone talk to XXXX this way? Is it helpful, meant to be help along the road, or even true? Take the things that are negative (my example, from my dialouge) "You are never going to be able to do this to goal" and make it true... " I have done many things in my life that I didnt think I could. The only limits on me are the ones I let be put there", and repeat the true statement through the day.

                    **HUGS** for you.

                              Dear Sarah,

As everyone else is telling you, you look great! Is there any way you can enroll in other activities that you enjoy doing, like art classes, or things that you are interested in doing? Sometimes if we focus on other hobbies and try to excel at other things as well, it is good for our self esteem. Just a thought! But you are doing so good at your weight loss and have inspired so many of us!
