Re: What I learned the hard way today....

Hi chris, yes you are right, I was warned yesterday. The problem was that I was scarfing down the gummi bears while I was posting my questions, LOL. I'm going to try the 'clean' week. That should fix things. Cheers, C

It seems like the jelly beans, licorice, gummi bears, really sugary stuff is the worst as far as side effects. Sugar alcohols are incredibly evil.

If you can get through the cravings (doing a clean induction and drinking a TON of water helps), you'll find that more whole foods taste sweet and you'll lose your desire for carby snacks. I had a bit of a granny smith apple (not induction friendly) over Thanksgiving and was truly shocked at how sweet and yummy it tasted. Before I always thought apples needed a little something extra to be good! So hang in there.

Allie is exactly right! I remember when I finally reached the berry rung of OWL and had my first strawberry. It seemed that they were suddenly growing strawberries much sweeter than they used to!

I found out something else too today; when I'm not sitting on my you know what and doing physical stuff like walking, gardening and arobics, I don't crave that stuff as much and the protein tastes way better.

Sounds like a 'lightbulb moment ' to me - congratulations

Keep that in mind for the next week or so and you will be well on the way to defeating that sugar/sweetener monster
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
