Induction Day 27 - only 7lbs ???

  • Induction Day 27 - only 7lbs ???

    Is it normal to be on induction for 27 days and only lose 7 lbs?
    I'm trying really hard and have never ever cheated!

    Can someone take a look at what i am eating? Also please note I choose a food intake from a low carb day. Usualy I am around 18-20 carbs a day.

    MY Questions:
    1. Can eating to much veggies stall you?
    2. I tried decreasing veggies but no change, actually gain weight because of constipation.
    3. I have had my thyriod checked, no issues, I also did the yeast spit test, mine is a floating, no problems there.

    Total Carbs: 16 carbs
    Breakfast:
    (1) Boiled Egg = 1
    (1) Jello = 1

    Lunch:
    Top Sirlion Steak = 0
    Lobster Tail w. Butter = 0

    Dinner:
    4 Cups Loose Leaf = 2
    Blue Cheese = 1
    12oz Tuna = 0
    Alvacado = 4
    Asparagus 10 stalks = 2

    Snack:
    4 Scrambled Eggs = 4
    Cheddar Cheese = 1

    I had the exact same experience - it helped to add in exercise and add intensity too keep it hard to do and the weight started dropping again. It just means that you are metabolicly resistant quite a bit.

    To get thru my first week clean: (8/05/2007) Done! Yay! and 3lbs down :/ but at least it's a loss.

      You've lost more in 27 days than some do in 6 months! You've lost almost 8 pounds in just one month! Way to go!

      You might find that you want to check your caloric intake just to be sure you're not taking in too few calories, or too many. That's usually what works for me--that and upping my exercise.

      You might also consider moving on to OWL to get things moving again.

        I gonna guess you're using the sugar free jello. I've just done a lot of research on them. Some Sugar Free Jello uses aspartame which is also found in diet soda's and slows down your ability to loose weight. Check your ingredients that might be it and ofcourse your 64 ounces of water is required (plus 8 for every 25) and exercise.

          Your right! I know my basal is around 1700 a day.

            I just started eating the sugar free jello 3 days ago =(
            But I stalled around the 9 day marker. I lost 10 total in 9 days. 27 days later I am not only 7 lbs lost.

            But I am going to drop the jello. THanks

              Are you taking measurements? This was a huge factor for me when I was losing weight. There were weeks that I would only loose a lb or so but the inches were just dropping off.

              I highly recommend you take your measurements and catalog them. Go treat yourself to a very pretty journal and go from there. Every Tuesday morning, I would weigh in and measure.

              I did so and when I look back now, I am amazed. For the record, I tracked the following:
              Calves
              Thighs
              Butt
              Waist
              Breast
              Arms
              Neck
              Torso (under the breast)

              You would be amazed at where inches can be lost at!

                Thank you! I do have a measuring tape, but i don't measure myself.

                  You will be shocked when you measure yourself, even more rewarding the seeing the scale move! I promise you that.

                  I think back to last year, when I was wearing a womans size 18/20 pant and
                  thinking how awful a 29 year old looked shopping in this department. I mean, I have a very good looking, totally in shape BF. And, here I was looking like a smuck!

                  Now, I look at my journal, and see my success. I wear almost the smallest of sizes, and am a curvy 30 year old who has a great new look and shape. I can't remember off the top of my head but I think I once figured out that I lost over 60 inches all over my body. (I will double check and report back).

                  The measuring is key and I know you will be so happy that you did once you hit goal! Good luck to you on your journey!!!!!

                    you have done great! 7 pounds for you is 14% of your total needed to lose weight. for me or Cleo to match you we would have needed to lose 20 pounds

                    So what youy doing for the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins?

                    Did you know because oif all the biochem changes going on it is very common for folk on any weight loss program to not see scale weight loss at the 2-4 week time period. I call it the post induction hesitation period but some folk mis name it a stall and call it Post Induction Stall Syndrome or P I S S for short.
                    Scales measure the force of gravity unpon your total mass. On Atkins you are morphing your mass, shedding fat mass adding muscle mass and your fluid mass is in a constant state of flux as your body plumps the fat tissues to maintain shape for biochem reactions until the fluids interferance with the biochem reactions exceeds your individual tolerance for it and your body makes more chems to force the fluids out. ( that is where whooshie fairy cames from). So you could lose 3 pounds of fat add 1 pound of muscle tissue and add 3 pounds of fluid mass and be bemoaning how Atkins isn't working any more cause your scales ain't moving. Hide them and set a monthly day for you to see changes if you need them to validate your hard work you are doing morphing your body but remember nobody sees your weight when you walk in they see the inches you have lost as you have become the healthier smaller person you are today.

                    Many folk get frustrated and decide the program they are on isn't working and quit. your scales will move again and as Artgirl pointed out tape measures will show you the inches of fat melting off your body as youor clothes should also be showing you.

                      Thanks for the encouragement! I currently work out at Curves 3 xs a week.
                      I hope this will help kick start my weight loss. Also i drink tons of water.

                        remember you want fat loss! you may ad some lean tissues which will show up on your scale as a gain but inches will keep coming off

                        ask them at your curves to check your body fat for you again and see how well yo have progressed when evry you get discuraged.

                          I do have a BMI hand held thing i bought yesterday! I just have to read the directions on how to get accurate readings. ALso i weigh in weekly. Also i just have a web cam but i woud like to take progress pictures!

                            2big has given you some excellent advice already. I would only ask what phase of Atkins are you in? From what you are eating, it looks like first rung of OWL. Certainly eating more the alloted amount in Induction can stall you, but it really depends upon what you phase you are in. I personally would go back to a standard phase approach (either Ext. Induction or OWL) and be patient. That way you aren't working perhaps against you upcoming whoosh.

                              we have a whole forum just for stats called journal stats nobody but mods and the journal hostess can post back to you there though so don't think folk are igmoring your great progress when you post it there. LOL some of our members even post their whole journal there so they can hide from the the journal gang and others when they know they are making errors with their Atkins like desetthorn, right Lynne
