A couple of questions.
How much do you weight and how much to lose?
How tall are you?
ON Induction, I ate green vegetables and protein. Very little cheese.
A typical day was bacon and egg or an omelette with grated cheese onit forbreakfast. Meat/fish for lunch (usually grilled chicken from nightg before or tinned salmon) and a BIG green salad (took me over 1/2 an hour to chomp through). Meat and stir fried or steamed green veggies fo dinner, with a little parmesan sprinkled on veggies while they are hot and stirred in.
At least 3 litres (4 x 8 oz glasses to a litre) of water daily.
Decaff coffee, cream, no sugar or sweetener.
I lost 11 kgs (24.5 lbs) - 7 kg week 1 and 4 kg week 2.
EAT MORE VEGETABLES!

I agree with all the above. You should stay away from those processed foods. Stick to the "whole" foods and you will start to see results. Also you should use Fitday.com to monitor your fat/carbs/protien intake too. It makes life much easier when you can "see" what your eating. Make sure to keep your daily ratios around 65%fat 5% carbs and 30% protien ratio.
Hey hun., when I started I was kinda doing what you were. Get into fit day and watch....i try to meet 20 carbs(5%) a day and watch my protein(35%) and fat(65%), EAT the Veggies trust me, all three cups!! First day people fixed my menu and I am going on day 5 with 7 lbs lost...I eat 3-4 oz of cheese mmmmmm cheese strings, and all 3 cups of veg, drink atleast 64oz. I though hey less food, less weight....not the case this diet works if u follow!! trust me ull love it!

Sorry - thread hijack - but I had to comment on your post Jenler.
Congratulations on tweaking your menus and starting to lose
7 pounds in 5 days is terrific!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies? Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Anjelique, processed meats are anything thats, well, processed. If it didnt go straight from animal to packaging, its processed.
Since salami and roast beef aren't straight from animal to box, they're processed. Now, a whole chicken is more than often unprocessed, provided it's not been tampered with (stuffed, or dressed for example)
A joint of beef before you cook it is normally unprocessed. Roast beef is frequently cooked in unhealthy ways, or ways not applicable to Atkins. My mom for instance, rubs the joint in flour first before cooking. Cant have that!
Sausages, ANY kind, whether it's pork, turkey, chicken, duck, whatever, is made of fillers. My father is a butcher, I've seen them made in all of my 20 years. Only a percentage of the sausage is meat. The rest is bread, herbs, and the skin (which if you dont know what is made of, I wont be the one to tell you) Typically, sausages contain about 4.5g each because of the fillers. It is VERY rare that you'll find any that are pure meat, and if you do, they'll cost you a fortune because its all meat and no cheap filling (which makes them affordable)
The only meats you're going to get which are not processed are typically those which are uncooked and un prepared, not in any sauces, marinades or coated in any way.
Don't buy packaged stuff, buy it from the butcher.
Hey All, i have just been reading your advice to angelique on her menu choices and i was wondering if you might critique mine as well.

Dietfreak, the only thing I'd change personally, I'd have more salad in place of all those vegetables! As Dr Atkins states, you can have the vegetables if salas does not exceed 3 cups, so add a bit more in and take a bit of the vegetables out.
If you find you're still not losing weight, there are a number of things you could do. First, stop with the coffee. Up until now, caffiene hasnt affected me at all, but after I stalled for 6 weeks, I cut it out and lost 2lbs in the first day!
Try cutting back on the cheese too and see if that helps.
Make sure you're checking the carb content of the dressings and sauces too, and you'll also want to watch the salt levels in them, as too much salt makes you retain water and bloat.
And another thing, try eating unprocessed meats in place of lunch meats. They are so full of fillers most often than not! All artificial additives, so try a few days with slices of meat from the butcher instead.
Atkineers on induction are only supposed to weigh every two weeks. This is not a low fat diet and we are not scale slaves. Your tape measurements are far more indicative of progress than the scale. I went from a size 22 to a size 16, but the scale stayed the same. The scale is not a reliable source of information.
Atkineers don't stick to lean meats. Just the exact opposite. Having fatty meat is one of the ways the mouth chemically signals the brain that it is ok to release the fat cells because it is getting a source of daily energy. You need to eat meat fat. You need to have some butter. You need to get that taste in your mouth that tells your body there is no way is it starving.
There is an exact science to Atkins.
It is just as important to eat enough food as it is not to eat too much. You can have 20 grams of carbs on induction - no more, no less.
If you keep it at 10 grams you are not giving your body enough food and you are giving it a signal that your eating habits are going to continue to be erractic and it will, as usual, be starving. The only way to convince your fat stores to let go is to ensure that your body gets the chemical signal that it is going to be fed well on a regular basis.
You must include your 3 cups of veggies from the induction friendly foods list. You should never go hungry, you should always be full. And don't forget to include a mock danish if you are craving a sweet. EAT and be merry.
Finally, it takes the body some time to make the adjustment. Be patient with your body. Give it a good six weeks on Atkins before jumping to any conclusions. Give your body the time frame it needs to make the change.
Good luck to you. Don't give up. Eat more!

] Female, 48, 5'3  SW 207 / CW 165/ GW 150 Started Atkins 1st Feb 2005 Still holding at a happy size 16.
anjelic good fro you.
Dietfreak you are actually doing well on your Atkins. our expected induction less is 5-10% of the needed to lose weight and you have passed the 5% mark already.
you are slightly over eating your veggies for the day and you may have confused folk with the mixing of the mushroom sald veggies in with the cup of other veggie green pepper and oinions.
Have you been tracking your foods on www.fitday.com ? if so you can see how you are doing with your fats and proteins and seeing if you are in the 65% fats and 30% proteins range. you maybe slightly under on your fats. Atkins is a ketogenic plan which means you use dietary fats to prime the body to burn body fats.
your new to you exwerice program will cause a fluid gain until your muscles figure out that new program is their new normal load and release the fluids which will give you a nice scale loss too. make sure you are useing your tape measure to chart your inches lost so you can watch those inches of body fat mealting off. Happy low carbing.
