  • Help Me Please!

    Hi all,
I need a bit of help.
I've fallen off the wagon, I could use the excuses of holidays etc...but I won't.
My own fault, my decision. I'm lazy and I've succumbed to my sweet tooth.
    Anyway...
I believe in Atkins and feel great when I'm on it.
I'm asking if some kind people can help me get motivated again and re-started, I'm willing and open to follow all your advice and, dare I say, instructions?

    Re: Help Me Please!

Just look at your photos you posted here! You've had amazing progress already! Do you want to look like you did back in July? Don't poison yourself with that bad food any longer. You can do this! And you are certainly worth it!

Oh look! Here's the wagon pulling up now. Here, take my hand and jump back on!

      Hey Pres,
Jump, don't just climb back onto the wagon!!! You've done this before, and obviously (see your photos!!!) had good success with it. Why on earth would you want to go back to those old habits and feel bad about it? Think about it, this WOL works, it makes you feel better, makes people look at you differently, etc...

Come on back, it's the right thing to do. And you already know there's tons of support here.

      Welcome back!

Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.

I'd say in the scheme of things, what's 2 weeks' worth of clean induction? Start right now, and you'll already be hours ahead of the game.

Accepting responsibility (no excuses) is the first step and you've already done that. The second step is BACK ON TRACK!! YOU CAN DO IT!

            Re: Help Me Please!

get out your notebook and pen and write out two lists one why you wantto lose weight on Atkins the other why you don't. be honest. then assign a value to each line from 1-100 and you can use a number motre then once of how important each is to you. Add them up if the do Atkins is bigger you do it it isn't you don't want to at this time do Atkins so you need to find another program you can do to minimize the carb harm until you are ready to return.

Now that you are ready get out your befote pics and post them in the kitchen in the car on your coat pocket and with your credit cards and cash. Then the next time you even think about doing something not on the Atkins plan for the phase you are on ask yourself Am I helping that fellow reclaim my body or not. it the answer is yes stop and don't do it.

Now go buy your foods clean out the house car and office of all carby not allowed foods and get going.

Join an ADBB exercise challenge for the exercise part of your Atkins so you can do get some fun out of doing them.

When you want to cheat come post and talk about why.

keep a food journal about why what when where and how much you ate how you felt before during and after you ate it and see if you can find what triggers your bad eating. You will be surprized at ehat patterns emerge.

            Happy low carbing.

I know a trick to get motivated. Try on something that you wore back in July and see how much weight you have gained since then. It always works for me!

                    What 2Big said....
Also...do something that makes you happy (that doesn't involve food) like go bike riding, bowling, paint something, WHATEVER makes you happy, to relive your stress, THEN clean out your cupboards and fridge, THEN go Atkins shopping! Take a few days to get ready, mentally, ready with your food, etc. Then get back on the wagon.

I find that being prepared is the key to making this WOL a success.

You can do this Holmes, but ONLY YOU can do this, we can't do this for you.
Ask yourself, am I committed to getting healthy and being happier?

                            Re: Help Me Please!

So I threw out the last of the rubbish foods and my home is now Atkins approved.
Dinner tonight is steak with mushrooms and peppers and always with lots of water of course.
This is more or less the end of day 2 and I feel fine, no withdrawal headache, just a lil grumbling one yesterday, maybe i'm heading them off at the pass with all the water.
                            Gotta get active now.
