I have eaten 5 But I was Ravinous and had no food in the house so rather then eat a cup of Noodles I ate 5 eggs LOL. What I don't do to stay the course ROFL.

Yeah, I've oftened wished eggs smelled better ... there is just something about having to apologize to co-workers for the smell of your beloved snack!! But I guess every rose has its thorns!

I eat 3 - 4 at a time, I add butter and pepper and salt

I think 3 is the max for me. I find them quite filling and am not sick of them......yet!!

I've had 4 smashed up in an egg salad at once, and I've eaten a 6 egg omlette every so often when we go to our fave greek restaurant (and not only 6 eggs, but every breakfast meat known to man inside YUM) Amazing what you can put away when you're not cramming your tummy with pancakes, toast or hashbrowns! I used to leave part of the omlette on my plate cuz I would eat the other goodies first.

My norm is a 3 egg salad for either breakfast, or a quick dinner if we just got home from bowling and I'm hungry.

I read somewhere that the reason we could put away the carbs (Betty's oreo story) is because the body actually doesn't recognize carbs in a way it does proteins. You fill up on protein alot faster because of what it takes for your body to break it down.
Carbs on the other hand, is like SUPER "fuel". Your body turns a blind eye when you eat it up because it WANTS it and NEEDS it for later. Hence being able to polish off a pint of Ben and Jerry's AND a good size chunk out of a pkg of oreos AND a PIZZA before you realize you've gone too far.

Absolutely not. I've eaten literally TONS of eggs over the past 4 years on Atkins, along with real butter, steaks, shrimp, and every other saturated fat known to man ... and my cholesterol ratio is 1.12!! FOR REAL!

so this hard boiled egg with butter thing....Is it not SOFT boiled eggs you are talking about? as a child my mom made me soft boiled eggs all the time for breakfast..either hot, in a cup mashed together with butter and salt, or mashed up with butter on toast. the yolks are slightly cooked..but not completely hard like a hard boiled egg.

This thread made me crave them actually..so i had a soft boiled egg with butter with my b'fast this a.m.

Not for me - it is hard boiled. Every morning I will boil 2 eggs on the stove, take a shower and so forth - shut the eggs off and let them set on the stove until I get ready. The water keeps them warm until I am ready to eat them - I peel them mush them up in the bowl with some butter (1 tbls or so) - mix it good so the butter melts and the yolks get creamy and put some salt on it and eat it. It is so good. I have to say my DH gets grossed out watching me eat every morning. He says "I don't see how you can eat that" I love them! I used to say the same to him when he put butter on scrambled eggs. I only put butter on hard boiled eggs because it makes the dry yolks creamier. I can tolerate eggs this way - recently every time I eat fried eggs or omelettes my stomach becomes upset and I become sick.

I eat soft boiled eggs with butter. Just put a very cold, peanut sized bit of butter (it has to be salted butter in my opinion) into the hot yolk and eat immediately. The cold butter is just beginning to melt as you put it into your mouth, and you get that lovely buttery, salty taste. Next teaspoon... another bit of butter...and so on. Fiddly but sooooo yummy! Often have a couple of those for breakfast.
