    Re: I will need help!!!

Yeah, I know you disaprove. But, I know what I am like and I miss my odd bit of chocolate and know it wont kill me. If I don't plan a cheat I will fall totally off and put all the weigt back on. This way I'm having a minute piece of choc about 4-5 times a year!!

As much as I love this WOE, I feel like a bit of a freak sometimes when I can't eat this and I can't eat that, and wont eat this and wont eat that.

I go round to my boyfriends Mum's for dinner and I can't eat half of what she puts down in front of me, and they think I'm rude, I can never have the dessert and only half of the main course....So, just a few times a year, I'd like to have a treat, and enjoy it...

sugarfreesheila has her fun day everymonth.....a day where she eats what ever she wants and then goes back on plan....she's maintained her weight for years....that's what I want to do...

This works for me, I know it does....I'm back on today and wont stray until Easter and only on one day....

    Sorry to go on, xx

One thing I did want to ask some peeps here, is, does it really matter if I miss breakfast? I really cannot stomach it!! I have enough trouble eating all I am supposed to eat on this diet, let alone breaky. I haven't eaten breaky since I was 7years old, and it makes me feel so sick.......
Sorry, I missed this question when i read through earlier.

It is imperative that you eat breakfast. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Dr atkins also said that you arent to go longer than 6 waking hours without food and I'm sure he also mentioned that you must eat within 2 hours of waking.

But remember, you dont have to actually eat that much for breakfast and it doens have to be traditional breakfast food.

Damn, I was hoping you'd say it wasn't that bad!

Problem I have is....eating before about 11o'clock has always made me feel really really sick...then of course I don't again (after only a few mouthfuls) until the evening.

When I first started this I forced myself to eat, but gave up on breaky. If I was allowed a yoghurt or something, I might manage it.....but ok, I will try and eat some breakfast....now I struggle to eat everything anyway, I'm just not hungry on this diet.

Sorry, I meant this link. My mistake.

Something light for breakfast - How about nice fluffy scrambled egg?

                Re: I will need help!!!

One of the reasons to eat breakfast is that if you don't, your liver kicks out glycogen which ups your blood sugar which brings about insulin (the fat storing hormone). This is probably one reason why the Dr. said don't go more than 6 hours without eating so that your blood sugar stays stable. You sound like you can handle something sweet for breakfast, why not try the mock danish, many people here seem to love them. How about flax oatmeal with some cream and DaVinci syrup or a flax cinnamon muffin.

So Emzina, are you still with the WOE after your Valentines Day dinner?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                    Hi elizellen,

Yes, I am absolutely still with this WOE!!! I had a cheat free day as per Induction yesterday, 2.5 litres of water and my excercise video.

This morning I have done my excercise video and am about to start on my water, so definitely back on plan, I knew I would, just needed a day off to get focused again.

The mock danish sounds good, but is it easy to do with English ingrdients?

                    Thanks xx

                      Re: I will need help!!!

Emzina, all the ingredients are easily got in UK
I use Waitrose's 'soft cheese' which has less carbs than philidelphia cream cheese.
                      Here is the recipe
                      Mock Danish (one serving)
                      2 oz cream cheese (2)
                      1 large egg, beaten(0.6)
                      1 packet Splenda(1)
                      1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract(0.3)

Put cream cheese in a small, microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high for about 1 minute or until softened. Remove from microwave. Stir in the egg, Splenda and vanilla extract into the cream cheese. Put back into microwave and cook on high for 2 minutes.

                      Total carbs: 3.9 grams
                      Fiber: 0 grams
                      Net carbs: 3.9 grams
                      Cheese allowance: 2
                      Sweetener allowance: 1

*Note: Cream cheeses vary in carb count. So be sure to check your packages. Also note that some people add a tablespoon of fiber supplement to their Mock Danish to give it a more "bready" (sturdy) texture. If you do this, you MUST include the the fiber supplement carbs.
I sometimes add ground flax (linseed in UK) as suggested here to make it more 'bready'.

In case anyone here hasnt seen this recipe and the other good induction-legal ones for revolution rolls and wraps etc, here is the thread url

That sounds yummy!!! When you say one packet of Splenda, does that mean one teaspoon as I have a jar of it at home?

Also, what is flax, I've never come across this!

Is Atkins good with IBS, my mum really wants to lose weight, but doesn't think atkins would be good for her IBS...?

                          Re: I will need help!!!

I think one packet of Splenda=2 teaspoons of the bulk stuff
But try with less as many of the USA recipes seem really excessively sweet to me.

                          Flax=linseed in UK
I did see ground flax in Sainsbury or Tescos the other day but at nearly a tenner for 500 grams!! I buy the seeds from a healthfood shop for a couple of quid for 500 grams and grind them in my coffee grinder instead.

If you do a ADBB search for IBS I think you will find many posters who benefited from Atkins WOE.
The ground seeds have a very short shelf life, so this way I dont waste it.
