    Today is Shrove Tuesday!

    Uk people follow this link!

    (btw, is shrove tuesday celebrated anywhere else in the world? Or is it just the UK?)

                                                  Shrove Tuesday/Pancake day is also celebrated in Canada, and not just by Catholics. All the supermarkets have had displays of pancake mixes and syrup on the ends of the aisles for a while, now, at least around here. And I remember in my former Province, it was the same.

                                                  I almost forgot what day it was, however, as I'm not Catholic, and I don't often consider making pancakes, even a LC version.

                                                  From what I remember, the reasoning behind it was to get all the items out of the house that you were limited or banned from eating during Lent (milk, eggs, etc.) - at least that's what I was told by someone.

                                                      It is the same as "Fat Tuesday" correct? I never heard of the pancake thing and I am half Canadian....
