      Hey all...................had a good week but only down .5lbs.Hopefully the whoosh fairy is on her way and will arrive in time for next tuesday.
      Has anyone seen sunflower?She always posted today and hasnt for 2 weeks.I know she was redoing induction but she hasnt posted at all.

        Morning all!!

        Well I usually weigh myself on Mondays so I hope its ok to post 2day!

        Oh man....just realised its Weds, sorry we had a Bank Holiday on Monday and today feels like Tuesday!! never mind!

        Anyway Monday was day 8 for me and I weighed 193lbs, total of 6lbs loss! Woohoo!


        26 yr 5'2 F
        Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
        On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
        Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
        Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

                  weighing in late... down 11.5 !!! I'm on day 18 still in

                  induction...no cravings so far...hopefully next weeks weigh in brings me closer to ONEDERLAND!!!

                        I just wanted to toss my 2 cents worth into the mix. I don't weigh foods. Nor do i count calories. I watch carbs. My weight loss has been slow but steady. Enough so that I am pleased with it. In Feb, I lost 8 lbs. and I thought to myself 8 lbs? and for this I gave up milk? ( big milk lover, that's the ONLY food I miss ) I thought, I can lose "only" 8 lbs with any diet. So I went off it for a few days. And I honestly didn't feel as well. So I went back on it. March I lost 11 lbs. hmmmmm. April I lost 6 lbs. May, ah May. I weigh myself just about every morning and every night. ( I know I know, but I do what works for me ). I print myself out 2 blank calendars for every month, one I keep home, one I keep at my bf's house for use with his scale. During the month of May, I just sat there in numbers. didn't really gain, didn't really lose. Just fluxuated a half pound here and there. The 3rd week of May, we took an 1800 mile road trip on bf's Harley. Down the Blue Ridge, into Tenn, then back to NC to visit with bf's sister, back to Va to visit with my father, then finally home. ( it was wonderful !! ) now, bf and I are bikers. we love to ride, then stop at a family bar and have a beer.............you guessed it. beer, 5 carbs in one drink. well, since I love my rides, and I admit, our stops, I just found a drink that was carbless -- Capt morgan w/diet caffine free coke. ***( LOL before you guys whoa, "pass judgement", LOL, I'm a single mom of six wonderful, happy, well adjusted daughters, grandmommy to one beautiful granddaughter, and drive a school bus for a living, a job I take very seriously. I just am a biker chick and love certain things about the lifestyle we have.)*** so in May, on our trip, I was having a few beers here and there, after we'd stop riding for the day. After 250+ miles on a motorcycle, ya need a drink !!! LOL so midweek I said, whoa, I can't be drinking these beers.....and I stopped. had the occasional capt & coke, and enjoyed. The only 'cheating' I did that whole week was the beers. When we got home, and I stepped on the scale that evening, I saw that I was 2 lbs more than the previous week, when I had weighed in the morning. So I knew I was ok. I immediately went back to my previous routine of eating very low carbs, I usually am around 5-10, and my usual drink when I was drinking. I ended up losing 4 lbs for the month of May. I think that's excellent considering I was on a Vacation.

                        The point of my rambling. There is one. SMILE. I am a person not prone to being able to follow a diet that invovles alot of stuff: weighing, being deprived, etc. As I said, the only food I miss is milk and I know alot of y'all are thinking Milk??? I find this diet extremely easy to do. No matter where I go to eat, I can find something on the menu that is acceptable for me. I have pretty good willpower, I can sit in front of a bowl of chips and totally ignore them. Do I wish I could have the ice cream, the breads, the mashed potatoes, the pasta's? of course I do. But not nearly as much as I miss wearing size 6 jeans. I have accepted, as I think all of us on here have, that I am not going to be able to just pig out on any foods I want, and remain thin. I have friends, I have daughters who can do this, I can NOT. I have taken some flack from people who say this diet is unhealthy........and I'll look at my plate, that has a steak and salad on it, and look at another's that has a steak, potatoes, rolls on it and I think, and I'm unhealthy? But I've also gotten so very many compliments. My weight loss, which is roughly between 30 and 35 lbs if I count before going to doctor, is very noticable. I, too, have jeans I haven't worn in a long while, that now fit me without discomfort. Imagine that. 30 - 35 pounds in a 4 month period is totally fine to me. It's slow at times, non existant at times, but I've never gained. And don't we all know that if you lose fast you gain back fast, but if you lose slow you're better able to keep it off? I've managed to lose weight without being on a structured or disciplined exercise regime, because of my hours at work. On this diet, counting carbs only, I've managed to lose wieght while still enjoying going out for a ride and stopping off at a family bar and enjoying. I've managed to lose weight and keep my lifestyle as it was, just by changing what goes into my mouth. Impressive? I think so. Amazing? I think so. Successful? I KNOW SO.
                        I don't know how you all put all these fancy things on your posts. scales, pretty borders, and such. But heck, I'll join the wiegh ins...........i've gone from a high of 220 down to 185 since I started beginning of Feb. I'll just add my weigh ins on Tuesdays, so long as I remember !! Keep up the good work everyone, and when you plataue <how DO you spell that? ) just keep going, it will resolve itself. When your resovle gets weak, just turn against it, and keep going. to quote a country song:
                        When you're going thru ****, just keep going, don't hold back, if you're scared don't show it, you might get out before the devil even knows you're there........

                          Hi All!

                          I am joining this challenge, nice to meet everyone.

                          Today is my starting weight of 256.3 lbs and I've changed my signature to match my goals and my weekly weigh-ins for the next 12 Tuesdays. Gonna try my hardest to lose as much of 46 lbs as I can.

                            WOO HOO -- i just weight myself and lost 3 more pounds!! I am so excited.... Almost down past 200lbs (and i've been over 200 for about 2 years now!). I CANT WAIT! thanks for everyone's support!

                              Well I gained this week. went from 201.5 back upto 202.5. I just got back from the dr and have strep and was taking some sugar free with splenda sore throat meds, but it didnt have the carb count and I think I might have gone over using them.I just couldnt stand the pain.
                              Anyone know anything else I can use that wont ruin my weight loss chances?

                                Well, I'm back down to "normal" and managed to lose all my water weight from my Memorial day Atkins deviation...I weighed in today at 232 which is down 2 lbs from my last pre-memorial day weigh in. I have to say that I am really looking forward to being in the 220's again so I am working hard this week to get there.

                                Everyone keep the faith whether you have lost or gained this week...so long as you follow the plan, you will eventually get to your goal
