  • knowing yourself

    over the last few days i have been really paying attention to what sets off cravings, irrational hunger, and overall badness in my life.... and i have found some really interesting things

    1) If i sleep in past 9 am i feel hungry, lazy and gross alll day long....or i should say if i sleep more than 8 hours

    2) if i don't eat untill dinner...which unfortunatly was possible when i was filling my empty belly with cream and coffee....if i do this as soon as one morsel of food hits my mouth i go CRAZY and get sooo hungry

    3) if i don't excercise.....For me EXCERCISE IS KEY...this may not be for all people but i just don't get ANY results nor do i feel good or look good if i don't excercise for at least 45 a day....and i realized that i can't half-as it either my body can tell

    of all these things the most fundemental for me is the exercise...when i get that down the entire day is great...also i really perfer exercising in the morning...since i live about 30 min away from the gym and i have some morning classes i have been having trouble going to the gym first thing...but now i think that i am just going to have to force myself too...plus getting up early puts me i a better mood than getting up late.


    what things do ya'll do that you know helps keep u ontrack or that def gets u derailed???

    I have a similar problem: since I don't feel hungry "all the time", I have to be careful if I get close to hour 6 of the "don't go without out eating more than 6 waking hours" rule. Because if I do remember to eat at hour 6, it's as though I "suddenly" realize I'm hungry and it's very, very, very, very easy for me to over-eat.

    Also the week before my TOM, I have to be careful not to over-eat as well.

      Great thread!

      For me, I have to have a structured day .. even on the weekends. Yeah, I'm in maintenance, but who said that's a cake walk?

      I do best when I have a plan .. meals, exercise, etc. When I don't, I find the urge to do the wrong things gets out of hand...

        I've noticed that if I eat something salty then I crave sweet stuff emediately and vise versa. It creates a vicious circle sometimes, like the other day I started eating some salted nuts, as soon as I finished with those I had to have something sweet so I ate some strawberries and cream, after that I craved nuts again real bad so.........

        This can really turn into a mess for me.

        I also have to exercise every morning or I get lathargic too. It helps if I really hurt myself on a day before I can't work out for some reason and being sore must trick my body into thinking I worked out.

          omg i am the same way.....i have to have a schedule....i love them..i forgot my planner the other day at the house and nearly had a heart attack
          ...i def need to be keeping busy to keep me away from food...and also to make sure that i am living life not just watching it on tv or the movies

            if I fix a whole pot of something so I can have more later and it is a food I know I love then I get in trouble trying not to eat it all. so I fix one portion at a time of those foods like any bean dish is easier to resist when it is a bag of dried beans in the cabinet waiting to getsoked/ cooked/ fixed as opposed to cooked read to fix beans in the frig or freezer. stuff like chicken or sauces I can make by the pot and have it ready to do in individual portions frozen or in the frig.

            I I can't buy it like that then I don't buy it. the pint of cream and can of cocoa powder for not2lates choclate creams recipe? too much temptation there so cocoa pwdr and cartons of cream do not come in my house together.

              I have to eat before I exercise. For some reason the extra little burst of energy/guilt really gets me going.

                if i eat an omlete in the breakfast i stay hungry all day long..if i eat boiled eggs..my day starts really well and i dont cheat /i am not hungry that day
