    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      A 'rung' is like a level. So in OWL, for example there are different 'rungs' or levels of types of foods added back into your diet.

        To add to what the others have said, Dr Atkins described the order in which we add food groups after induction as the Carbohydrate ladder, and so we refer to the levels or stages of this ladder as being the 'rungs'.
