Re: I had to bake cookies

Wow tabekat thats kinda harsh dont you think?

This lifestyle is MY choice not his. In our everyday lives we are constantly shown carb rich foods, Just sit down in front of the TV for 10 minutes. Shall we never watch TV? Going to the food store even for Non carb full foods, Whats on every endcap? Carbs. Shall we skip a family gathering because cake is being served? I wont live in a cave, and you shouldnt have to.

To me this lifestyle is about personal change. You cant change everyone else just yourself.

Being a wife and a mother means at times our family's will want something thats on our no no list. Im proud I didnt have a cookie. Im proud of the fact I was able to make cookies without feeling guilty. Was it hard, Yes it was, but after I was finished I felt fantastic.

What about those people who have job's as a baker, shall she just find another job because she might be Sabotaging his/her goal? The answer is no. We need to learn to live with the choices we have made. And that is doing everyday things, living.

Oh and btw, My "selfish" Husband has been clean and sober
for 17 years and in the entire time we've been together he has never
even considered asking me to not drink around him {I used to drink once in every blue moon}. He made a lifestyle choice and he doesnt shove it down my throat nor will I shove my lifestyle choice down his.

Re: I had to bake cookies

Ivy, I have to agree with Tabekat IN THEORY. Although I just finished cutting up a luscious canteloupe for my family (I'm very allergic) I probably need to start making them aware that it's harder for me to do these things than for them to stop being so helpless. That said, we are not there. YET. And sometimes like Killerbombshell we get voluntold because we have always been there to do the baking, and like you said, it's part of our American lifestyle.

We probably need to find some happy medium, especially during high-crave times in our lives. (I know that's not a technical term, but what else can you call it when you feel "on the edge" and the junk food looks like you can't live without it?) Next time I'm called upon to make something junky and yummy, I will use it to teach DH and DD to do it. They need to learn if they want the junk. And I'd like to be "weaned off" the carbalicious baking duties.

Good girl! The more you do things like this, the stronger you will become.

Now mix those mac nuts with some parm. cheese and garlic, roll your chicken breasts in it and bake for 45 minutes!
Make it a happy low carb life!
