Ohh, but yer high horse has such nice legs... I bet they didn't mind just cause of the view.

I hate it when someone says Atkins is bad for you and then wants to tell you a story about their sister's boyfriend's mother's cousin who got real sick and almost died from eating too much meat. I simply tell them "then they weren't on Atkins, no matter what you say." Lucky for me I have the kind of personality that usually does not have to suffer fools nor brook many arguments. I step up with a wealth of knowledge and can back my statement with facts. What I say is Law!! *cough* 'scuse me... y'all got me all wound up!

I know I may die from eating a nice salad everyday, but won't be cause I choked on a crouton!!

I found your rant, Valid. Nicely said. I would rep you and Heidi again but y'all are still capped off from the last time.

One thing I must say... what is up with a meat and eggs diet?? That right there is one diet I just couldn't do!! Gawd, even thought of nothing but meat and eggs makes me wanna retch. I am not bashing it, if it works for you, go right ahead,it's yer health (okay that sounded like bashing, huh?). I don't think it would work for me, I'd be backed up worse than rush hour traffic!! The other board I haunt has a bunch of meat and eggers on there, it just sounds crazy to me.

Re: good fat bad fat SB Atkins grains starches life

I confess to two "low-carb" products that I use sort of regularly now.

The first is the low carb tortillas and the second is a low carb yogurt. Now, if I could find a whole fat yogurt without sugar added, or the greek yogurt everyone talks about, I'd buy it. I went to the new WildOats (figuring, surely THEY would have it) and they have whole milk organic plain yogurt...but it has added sugar! GRRR.

I love my meat and eggs, but the thought of eating only that for a day let alone a week turns my stomach. I want tomatoes and onions and peppers and mushrooms with my eggs, I want something green and leafy with both lunch and dinner.

Something that gets it all moving, ya know? Give me a variety of flavors and colors and textures.

Oh, you know what else...Heidi, this ones in your honor....I'm a squash whore!

I could eat fresh squash (never frozen or canned) practically every day. Summer squash, zucchini squash, spaghetti squash, my new favorite chayote squash.

Yep, I will admit to LC wraps. 5 carbs per wrap and I usually eat a half of one. That and One Carb Ketchup, 1 tbsp. But I mean, I'm american, I love ketchup! I do make my own cocktail sauce with it. Loaded with horseradish *drool* and Frank's Red Hot... great, now I am hungry.

Hey, Joy, My Grandma lives in St. Pete. If we go visit this summer I will give ya a holler and we can hang out and eat meat and eggs!

Hangin out sounds great...meat and eggs do not LOL

You know, I when I fell off the wagon my first go round it was because I didn't add foods back, and I didn't get creative with my meals. Totally goes back to Heidi's original rant. This time around, I'm much more enthusiastic about what I eat and its totally reflected in the success I've had so far.

My husband is even jumping on the bandwagon in his own way...and that is now he wants to start raising our own meat. So far, it's all been talk...

I understand that rabbit farms are getting big in Florida. I like Rabbit. I wish it were more widely available here and cheap. That would be cool. What burns me up is the price of chicken wings. I love wings, but they charge the same amount as they do for BL/SKL chicken breasts. It's crazy, man.

You should be able to find plain yogurt that isn't sweetened. the 'sugar' carbs you see in plain yogurt is actually naturally occuring sugars, If you buy a plain full fat yogurt i think there's about 6g's, maybe less, of carbs per 1/2 cup (I find 1/2 a cup more than enough). you can just sweeten yourself with splenda.

There's also a theory that the carbs in yogurt (and buttermilk) are 'eaten up' by the bacteria that is added to it, and the the carb count is really much lower than it says. I'm not sure I trust the theory, but if you are interested here is an article explaining it.

Personally I tried Bluebunny yogurt when I was down in the US, and I didn't like it at all..I think it's watery compared to a good plain yogurt.

                                The chayote was delicious!
I'm so looking forward to going to Florida tomorrow!
I keep holding myself back form ranting when i see a post about frankenfoods because i don't want be a butthole. I'm fairly new in the game and I don't want to be high and mighty, but in the month and change I've been at it, I haven't used a any lc specialized products. Will I? Maybe. Here's what i do now. When I need a snack, I cut a piece of cheese or I pop open a can of tuna and throw some oil on it with some greens. Or i go to the supermarket and buy a can of kippered herring. Never once have i tohught that an lc bar would be a better option. Maybe if there was nothing else, but why worry about lc candy and lc dressing when there are equally convenient options? I don't get it.
