  • How much do you eat now that you're smaller

    OK yup I know it's a balancing act but seriously I aam having a little Problem figuring out how much I can eat. My CCL is 65 pretty awesome gotta love that on Weight days I can eat well over 100 but, I don't. I am eating seriously around 2000 calories a day and well Staying the same basically. I am finding even know I am in ketosis and eating within my CCL I am having troubles figuring out where my body loses weight it seems I have to drastically drop my calories to see any dip on the scale like I mean drastic seriously I don't lose unless I am eating around 1200 calories a day even with my stupid exercise what is up with that. I am doing it right feeling great just wondering what is up with that.

      Sarah, girl, you are so physically fit, I would think you could eat alot more than 1200 calories and still lose!! I am wondering if it has less to do with how you eat and more to do with the meds you take?

        My portion Sizes are fair I spread my food out I eat 6 smaller meals rather then 3 Big ones it keeps me happy and not hungry so basically I snack on cucumber and some Mac nuts or almonds 1 handful is all and the rest is salads veggies and meats I don't eat cheese doesn't like me SO I ahve no issues with cheese no meat with preservatives no bacon No processed sliced meat all whole foods.

        I tried to add grains a while back but I balooned up and the cravings were sooo bad I couldn't handle it so I had to drop that. I ahve been lucky I have added fruits with no Problems and berries and Nuts but as for dairey and grains Nope can't have them.

        I worked it out and I am eating roughly 300 calories per Small meal sometimes a little more sometimes less. It just frusturates me on why I can maintain on such a high amount of calories sometimes with the heavy weight training going into the 2500 calorie range maintain drop 500 maintain drop 200 maintain till I hit the 12-1400 calories then I start to lose but, I feel like I am starving on that amount of food.

        HMMMM

        To give you an idea of what I did for weight training today this is an avaerage day for me.

        Seated chest flies dropsets 11x70lbs,10x60lbs,10x50lbs,7x40lbs ( no rest between sets)
        3 minute rest
        Tricep Press down Dropset 11x80lbs,10x70lbs,8x60lbs,7x50lbs ( no rest between sets)
        3 minute rest
        Chest Flies 6x25lbs,6x25lbs,6x25lbs,6x25lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
        Overhead cable tri ext 7x70lbs,7x70lbs,7x70lbs,6x70lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
        Seated bench Press 7x80lbs,7x80lbs,7x80lbs,6x80lbs ( 1minute rest between sets)
        Dumbell overhead extensions 10x30lbs,10x30lbs,10x30lbs,10x30lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
        Seated chest Flies Superset to exhaustions 21x40lbs
        3 minute rest
        Tricep Press superset to exhaustions 24x50lbs

        I run around 30 MPW Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
        Weights 55 minutes 4 days a week Mond, Tues, Thurs Friday I do a 4 day Split.

        It just beats me how my Body is soo increadibly weird it should be losing maybe I am a muscle gaining machine I am right now 130 lbs of Lean Body mass which I had measured 1 month ago I am 27% bodyfat which is really cool but, still my legs are very fat LOL>

        Any more help am I missing something or doing something wrong just seems my Body has it's own adjenda.

          Unfortunately there is something to our genetics, esp re: our shape. You are doing SO great, and getting so fit, and are SUCH an inspiration. Your legs will eventually catch up. I've seen you give some great advice about not giving up
          What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

            NOPE I'll never give up it's just weird I can maintain on such a HIGH amount of calories but to lose I ahve to drop them soooo low. Guess my bod is just really really good at conserving energy

              You sound like you are down in a way. Your posts are normally up and positive about exercise, today you call it stupid exercise. Step back and see how far you have come, you are an inspiration to us all. Hang in there the scale will move.

                OH Boy, hmmm I didn't even realize I put that thanks for Pointing that out Exercise is anything but stupid but, ya I guess in a way it's a downer for me having to drastically cut like that HMMM.

                OK I am gunna get back up and Positive and if I ahve to cut that much to lose then I ahve to right.

                      I eat a lot of food most days and then very little others ...Sarah I really do not go by numbers but pay extremely close attention to when I am content ..not full but content ...I know you are in a hurry to get where you want to be ..but honey life is about the journey you know and enjoying what you have accomplished and getting used to how it feels ...

                      my advice if it matters any is to stop thinking of numbers so much keep doing what you are doing and embrace where you are right now ..it will save you a lot of stress and help you find your goal and stay there....

                      sounds all surreal and shiiit but it is seriously how I feel this whole eating thing was meant to be OOOXXX

                        Makes a lot Of Sence Heidi and ya I'll listen you are at goal so ya gotta know. I think my problem sometimes is eating with emotions BAD BAD and also when I am bored so I have been for the past few days ONLY eating when I am hungry WOW. It has helped a whole lot and I feel VERY in control except yesterday I was sooo stressed I didn't eat a thing couldn't I was sooo sick. But that's what happens today I got up made breakfast and had a cup of coffee and BIG ol chug of water and I feel very satisfied and I didn't even eat as much as usual.

                          even though you are having 6 small meals you still follow Dr Atkins rules if you are not hunger you don't eat unless it has been 6 hrs since your last meal and then you snack on a small protein/fat with some carb snack. Right now you are undergoing a lot of changes cause you altered your training for your 1/2 and your recovery you are PMSing and you are restating your noral workout.

                          Scale pounds lost are not the validation for our great Atkins job morphing our bodies. fat loss is. with your already shed pounds you don't have as many to lose so 1 pound lost is now the same as 10 pounds when you had a 100 to shed, It takes more time to see the lose show up on your scales so don't go near them if the won't validate your hard work and you need them too. keep working your tapemeasure and your lean body mass measuring to see the healthy part of you getting better while the inches of fat are shed.

                          Since you like pictures do a monthly pose down for yourself and compare how much smaller the rolls are and how much more defined the muslces are. you know muscle def shows up better whem their is less overlaying fat so you got to be losing for those muscles to be visible to our naked eyes.

                            YOU are sooo RIGHT 2BIG thanks for reminding me of that. Sometimes we get caught up in the scale and really what is the scale but a stupid NUMBER any how. I am getting lean and that's what I want.

                              I'm a vegetarian, so my food is basicly veggies, veggie meat (very low calorie and fat) and cheese ... my average calorie intake as I have it on fitday is about 600calories... though I'm still on induction... I wonder if I'm gonna balloon up once I double that
