Re: Only one pound in four days....
You DID read the book, didn't you? Lots of other good info in there. So much that I tell other ppl NOT to start until they read it! Since you've already started, get the book at any Walmart or even the used book stores or library, then make a point to read the whole thing, not just the Induction part.
The other points newbies often don't know is making sure they are getting enough extra fiber -- Psyllium or flax is great. And exercise. It's all part of the program, and put together it really WORKS. Best of luck to both of you.
On the question of losing slowly, I'm the new poster girl for this!! The human body has a lot going on all at once; water retention (or not) other "waste management" (or not), muscle building, and other factors which are probably not understood even by the brainy ones.
My personal theory is that if I'm following the plan, and not losing for a month or two (and that has happened), the loss will come in inches if not in pounds. And meanwhile, I'm doing myself a big favor in terms of cholesterol and triglyceride levels, blood sugar stabilization, hydration, etc.
Keep up the good work. Four days is not a long enough time frame to judge anything. Four days ago I was 152!! Today I'm 155!!!!
I know it's not the WOE, it's something hormonal or other problem. I'm focusing on the long haul now. I will be 24 lbs lighter in a year with my new plan, and that's not a bad thing!!
