HEY CASSIE just noticed you are from ohio ... so am i
You DID read the book, didn't you? Lots of other good info in there. So much that I tell other ppl NOT to start until they read it! Since you've already started, get the book at any Walmart or even the used book stores or library, then make a point to read the whole thing, not just the Induction part.

The other points newbies often don't know is making sure they are getting enough extra fiber -- Psyllium or flax is great. And exercise. It's all part of the program, and put together it really WORKS. Best of luck to both of you.

On the question of losing slowly, I'm the new poster girl for this!! The human body has a lot going on all at once; water retention (or not) other "waste management" (or not), muscle building, and other factors which are probably not understood even by the brainy ones.

My personal theory is that if I'm following the plan, and not losing for a month or two (and that has happened), the loss will come in inches if not in pounds. And meanwhile, I'm doing myself a big favor in terms of cholesterol and triglyceride levels, blood sugar stabilization, hydration, etc.

Keep up the good work. Four days is not a long enough time frame to judge anything. Four days ago I was 152!! Today I'm 155!!!! I know it's not the WOE, it's something hormonal or other problem. I'm focusing on the long haul now. I will be 24 lbs lighter in a year with my new plan, and that's not a bad thing!!

Bee - Try to weigh urself weekly. Not everyday as ur weight flucuates every day and u might get dishearted and give up all together! Definately not the way to go. Keep a weight chart and pin up where everyone in the house can see so you will be showered with compliments. The fridge is the best place as if ur ever tempted to reach for something in there that isnt legal then it should motivate you to stay on track!

Get drinking that water! Start with 2 ltrs a day as minimum and dont try and drink it all at once. If you have a pint of water with bf, lunch and dinner then thats 3 pints gone already with only 1 more pint to go!

Please read all the stickies at the top of the induction form. Please read the 2002 DANDR. Atkineers are not scale watchers. You can go down entire sizes on Atkins without seeing any scale movement at all. By watching the scale so closely you could very well sabatoge your own success.
