Atkins Bars --- Dis --- Gus --- Ting!!!

yeah so, bought some on ebay, shipped em in from the States as we don't get the varieties here.
Anyway, smores and caramel brownies arrived this morning.
Now, please understand, I haven't been eating the bars, nor have I been getting cravings, but it's like the diet coke with cherry, gotta try summit new.

Anyway, tried them this morning, spat them out!
Disgusting!
Revolting!
There's no way I could eat that stuff.
So, I guess they'll be getting resold on ebay!

It's amazing how your tastes change.
I bought my female "companion" a box of chocs and I never touched one, nope, not even a crumb of chocolate.
I've no cravings for anything like that and if ever do fancy something sweet, I mix up some Ricotta or Mascarpone, bit of cocoa and a bit of splenda and there you have a nice chocolate creme.

Anyway, Atkins bars are nasty!

I have Pria Carb Select bars at the office and while they're not revolting, I find they smell like booze. You know? Like all the sugar alcohol could actually get you drunk.
In the month and a half that they've been there, I've eaten one and that was an "omg I'm starving and wild woman busy and someone ate my friggen string cheese" moment.

I took a bite of an Atkins bar one time and it came flying out of my mouth so fast ...well besides the fact they are NOT good for you ..they are as you said disgusting ..imho overpriced crapfood ....give me the 2 bucks they cost and I can make you a meal!!!!

real food is soooo much better ..there is no point to these imho!!! none not if you want to be healthy ....

eat food and thrive I say ....crapfood is crap ...no matter how you package it ...eat veggies instead!

I am sorry you wasted your money ...it infuriates me that they sell this crap and call it "Atkins"

Well since I'm in charge of the Costco runs in my office I got an industrial size package of string cheese and a giant canister of nuts.
I got myself some macadamia nuts last time and the effers ate them all! I seriously had one serving! I was just like "DUDE THIS IS ALL I CAN EAT! I buy you guys cookies, candy, raisins, fruist snacks...WHATEVER, and you EAT MY NUTS!?"
I swear it's like I'm the mom around there.

I was just about to start a thread about what you said, Heidi. I'm looking at what I've eaten in the last couple weeks and it just amazes me at the good food I'm eating now.. REAL food... not the junk I've crammed into myself for years. The other day I bought a double cheeseburger (to eat the meat and cheese only!) Before the bun got tossed out I wadded it up into a little ball and was ewwwwing about how nasty it even felt. I would hate to think how many pounds of that nasty white bread I've eaten.

Most of those bars taste awful. And Erin was right... some of them really do smell like booze! I used to keep a few in my desk for emergencies too but not now. The emergency drawer has chicken broth and canned green beans and I try to take fresh veggies every day.

Well...they're not awful.

The coconut ones are OK, to be honest. That's the only one I actually like. The peanut butter ones are "ok".

I also like the chocolate chip breakfast bars. They're my emergency food. But...I wouldn't use them in induction or if you're in the early stages. I simply don't trust them. They have an absolute carb content that's high ...but it is glycerin loaded.

I've seen lots of Atkins bars with EXPIRED DATES on ebay. Were yours expired? Also, I wonder how hot they got being mailed? Were they melted?

I have tried these two morning bars and I thought they were good (peanutbutter crisp and apple crisp). Each has 2 net carbs and they do in a pinch when I'm on the go and can't stop to make breakfast or if I'm just lazy. I savor every bite and enjoy them with a huge glass of water.

Now, if you want to try something REALLY disgusting, try the Atkins shakes. It's like drinking dish water!! I was actually sick in Tescos car park after one sip after my best friend "high recommended" them.

I still don't know how she manages to drink them...oh my!

The canned ones and the cartons. A British drug store (CVS-like) make their own, and even they taste just as bad so I dont know whats wrong. I just know I lost a few dollars and my lunch :s

I see Atkins bars in the drugstores in Dublin & Belfast, and in all the Boots and convenience stores throughout the large U.K. cities - do you live in a small town in Ireland?

Sorry you didn't like them! I don't generally buy these types of products; but as far as taste goes, I'm pretty neutral.
