I wish that stuff came on tap...*licks lips*

It's not ok until you have an alcohol allowance, of course, but I remember reading the carb content of it a while back...

In 5fl oz of regular champers, there are 2g of carbs.

In a glass of dry champagne, you'll have about 5g of carbs, and in a sweet/sparkling wine variety, you'll have about 10g of carbs.

But what you have to watch with champgne is that unlike wine, it goes through a second stage in the making, where SUGAR is added, since natural sugars are lost from the grapes in the first stage.

I LOVE Champagne! We like it while sitting on the porch during a thunder storm..we drink it straight out of the bottle! The dryer the better.

              Steph's right, Alcohol Rung acceptable.

Someone brought red champagne over for New Year's last year. It was yummy! I only drink champagne on New Year's Eve, but I think I'll switch to red from now on.

If it were'nt for the extra sugar added it would be wine, not the bubbly. Bubbles don't have carbs, so go for the driest, bubbliest you can get your lips on (if you've come of rung, of course)!

Before Atkins (BA) we'd drink it as Mamosa's (not sure if that's the spelling) which is 1/2 Champagne and 1/2 Orange Juice. Good for breakfast on Christmas! (Hic, Burp!)

Red? do you mean pink? I've never heard of "Red" Champagne.

Yup, I mean red, not pink. It looked like red wine with bubbles in it. I don't remember what it was called. It definitely wasn't pink. I can't find it on the liquor board website, but maybe it's only available during the holidays?
