did you send it back? and did yuo tell your waiter his tip was based on the service you recieved and since you didn't get what you orderd he got nothing? here in the US the waitstaff make less then minimum wage beacuse their get tips so they work very hard to make you happy so you leave them a nice one. I know my Mother gets spoiled rotten in our local Shoneys cause she tips generously and they know it. She gets served breakfast at all hours just cause they know it is the only food they gave she isn't allergic to. No other location of their chain will do that for her. they know she likes extra napkins and a to go box for her leftovers and they bring it right to the tabkle before her meal is even served. There were times right after my dad died when her food has arrived and they hadn't even taken my order yet.

First, his flight was only 2 hours (Copenhagen - Stockholm). No food or only crap food... We do not have any of those nice little tuna packets - but MAN I wish we did.
As to getting your server to change your meal here (in most places in mainland Europe), I have to laugh. I've TRIED AND TRIED AND TRIED much to the dismay of my dinner companions (who were ABSOLUTELY mortified!). And out comes dinner (about an hour later because eating out takes a LONG time here), and nothing is changed!
