  • Hello Everybody

    Hello Everybody,

I am taking the big leap. I bought the DR. Atkins' New Diet Revolution book, and I am ready to start my first day of induction tomorrow morning. My starting weight is 175, and my goal weight is 140. I have an alterior motive to lose the excess weight. Aside from feeling better about myself, and becoming healthier, I am trying to get back into the Army National Guard, and I have about 3 inches to lose from my abdomen, but only 3 weeks to get it done. I am going to stay on the Atkins program long after I reach my goal. Fortunately for me I have 2 things going for me: I love to drink water, and I run 2 miles 3 days a week. I have tried many diets in the past, and lost weight, only to see it all come back, and then some. While those diets worked for me, I never had the support I needed to keep my head on straight, and keep the weight off. I am convinced that this time the weight loss will be permanent. I have learned that I need to think of this not as a diet, but a life changing event. I am looking forward to my new life change.

Hello and Welcome!! My husband is in the National Guard and is Georgia at Fort Gordon because he got sick training in Mississippi for Afganistan. But all that aside, if it wasn't for this board I think I really would have failed. They are all supportive and very positive. Good luck tomorrow!!! God Bless, Michelle

            Re: Hello Everybody

Congratulations!!! You have made a very wise choice!!!

And, being an Air Force veteran (retiree) of 20 years, I can say welcome to the fraternity!!! The military is a great way of life... hmmm, kinda like Atkins. I wish you much success in both, and a safe and happy career in the military. I read where you're trying to get "back" into the ANG... kinda like me getting back into Atkins!!! Best of luck to us both!!!!

Again, welcome here and keep us "posted"!

Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.
