  • About Tea....

I read the other thread, and now I have a question...

I stopped drinking diet coke and coffee cold turkey but I have a heck of a time drinking water. I drink it, but its awful, and I want something warm in the morning.

So I switched to decaff teas, one of them is chocolate hazelnut. They are suger free and are the little packets you soak in hot water.

Ingredients: naturally decaffinated black tea, natural chocolate (unsweetened) vanilla nut and hazelnut flavors. I sweeten with one packet of splenda.

The other one is naturally decaffinated black tea, vanilla nut flavor, sarsaparilla and vanilla flavor. No sugers.

I count the splenda in my three packet limit. Is this bad to drink? Maybe this is causing my stall do you think? I have two cups a day, 6 oz each.

    Re: About Tea....

Hey can you tell me which chocolate tea you found. The other someone mentioned here ended up having an illegal sweetner in it. I am in seach of a legal chocolate tea.
I heard Trader's Joes is okay to use but have no Trader Joe around.

      Re: About Tea....

The tea I am using is called Chocolate Hazelnut, made by Stash Primium. The chocolate flavoring is very weak and kind of disappointing, but better then water. I would be shocked if there was anything nasty in it, and its not sweetened at all. If you try to drink this without sweetening it, you can't taste the flavors very well and its very bitter.

They call it a "dessert" tea, and I bet it would be very tasty with the cup about half full of real suger haha, but with sweetener its better then water by far.

If you want to drink something hot in the morning, why not drink some hot water.

If you stopped losing weight or slowed down when you added this tea to your menu, then it might be causing your problems. So if you suspect it is the culprit, remove it from your menu for a week or two and see what happens.

Have you tried drinking ice water, or perhaps squeezing a little bit of lemon or lime juice into it?

                      Re: About Tea....

No, I haven't tried the lemon, that would probably help alot for the regular water, though that wouldn't help with the warm drink thing. The main reason I want something hot in the morning is the air condition in this office containing over 300 employees is INSANE and it keeps it way too cold for me to be comfortable.

I considered complaining.....BUT there are 299 menopausal women (wonderfully nice, very supportive) working here (call center) that absolutely love the temps as they are. So I am fresh out of luck.

Heya not2late, no the stalls been going on for awhile, I just added the tea about 4 days ago, I got desperate.

                            Heya Boonie Stomper,

I might try that, I think I will continue the tea drinking til the end of the week, then weigh myself. If no dice, I will go cold turkey on the tea for the next week. If STILL no dice I will get a shot gun and end it all.

                            KIDDING!

Then I don't know what I will do, post on the review my menu boards again I guess. Someone send me the wooshie fairy already!

                              Hey Maerow,

How about trying hot water with a teaspoon of lemon? You could always get a decaffienated plain tea as well, or ooh, a mint tea! Count your sweetener as you normally would. (It doesn't count towards your water intake either...just water does.)

I know how you feel about having something hot in the mornings...I need to as well!
