I'll know I'm at goal when: Patio Furnature does not fill me with fear.
Good one, curveegrrl... I have once (or twice) broken a chair. OMG, what a horribly embarassing moment.

Great list, choeve. And I'm with G-mom -- you are right on. Being around for our kids and their kids (and THEIR kids, if we're really lucky) -- is one of the best benefits of all. I, too, want very much to teach my kids a healthier lifestyle. Being a fat kid was the pits. Both my husband and I were -- and now we are fat adults. I want them to have better. Lord knows life is hard enough without the extra pounds!

Can't wait to cross my legs, G-mom!

Re: What will you look and feel like at goal?

I would feel so excited just to get below 200 at this point!! The lowest I've been (since my 20's) is 159 and at a size 16. So many people post that they wear smaller sizes yet weigh more than they did the other times they wore it really amazes me. I'd like to see that happen.

My size goal is to get to a 13/14 eventually. That is what I wore in high school and my final weight goal may end up being 145 pounds. I'm taking it in 25 pound increments and will re-evaluate my goal each time the mini-one has been met.

I'm anxious to feel good about myself again and more confident -- stand tall. Right now with the way I feel and the things I've heard my in-laws say I've noticed that my shoulders slouch and I don't like that and have been trying to straighten them. I hate it that I let their words get to me so much and hurt my heart. But, I can change the way I feel about myself by doing what I know I need to do -- for myself -- and not for anyone else.

        Best wishes to all!

Re: What will you look and feel like at goal?

          LOVE THIS POST!!!

I will be a size 12. I looked GREAT as a 12, though i have been a 3 before. I looked best at a 5-7. However at a 9-12, I still felt sexy. I still was! and I thought i was fat then....HAHAHHA id love to be there again and would never take it for granted!

I will like myself again. I wont be afraid to dress in front of my husband. When a guy looks at me in public I wont think that he is grossed out by me, I'll think, "he thinks im cute". I wont have to try and pull my arms hard down by my side because i feel like they are puffed out away from my body because of fat in the way. I wont have to suck my tummy in just so ppl random strangers wont ask.."when are you due?" I am very unproportioned in that my tummy is the largest while my upperbody is smaller. I can quit wearing maternity clothes to accomodate for my pregnancy belly that never went away! I can wear A BELT!!!!!!! I can wear those cute sandals i used to love with heels. If i do that now I fell like im so top heavy i will brek my ankles.

I wont have to grab for a pillow everytime i sit to place in my lap so ppl wont see my huge belly.(done this since i was a kid) I wont get winded just walking up the stairs. I wont have to keep tugging at my clothes to make sure they arent clinging to my backfat! lol got a lump of fat right above my butt on the low back,...Whats that about???
          lol

When i was thinner, I had more confidence to just be myself, to speak out, and to just be normal. I have withdrawn so much since i have gained weight. I dont join in conversations, I dont make friends. Its like i think im not a valued member of society anymore. I guess im just starting to realize what this has done to my self esteem. I learning to appreciate myself again slowly. Just last night i looked in the mirror with my shirt off and could really see a difference! haha i didnt even go into the bathroom to change because my husband was in the room, haha!

I WILL NOT HAVE TO HIDE AND AVOID PPL I USED TO KNOW WHEN I WAS THIN ASHAMED AND SCARED THEY WILL LOOK T ME WITH WIDE EYES THAT ASK "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?" and know that they are saying when i leave how i let myself go. Ashamed because they knew me when i was thin and outgoing.

BEing this weight has really affected my marriage and its intimacy because of my self esteem. I am lucky to have a hubby that seems to be attracted to me at any weight. Its me though that has lost all intrest in intimacy because I dont feel sexy anymore. I know I am on the right track to loving my body again and feeling comfortabel in it.

          IM getting there!!

Thanks for being so honest, Kat and MotherC. Glad to see this thread active again; I truly think it can help people. Joy (ValidRouge) has really sold me on the power of visualization and positive thinking!

MotherC, it looks like you are making great progress since only the first of Sept. Keep it up!!

Re: What will you look and feel like at goal?

I will have a stomach that I will not feel self-conscious about. I will be able to wear medium sized shirts. I am hoping to get to a size 10 around 140ish lbs. I will not feel self conscious about being intimate with my DH. There will no longer be any rolls of fat or lumps of cellulite anywhere on my body. I will be able to do things without getting winded such as: walking up a flight stairs or chasing my children. My thighs will no longer touch unless "I" cross my anles. I will be 100% unable to wear anything out of a plus size store. I will have completely changed my way of eating for the rest of my life. I will never again take forgranted the importance of eating right and exercising regularly. When I go out in public men (here and there) will actually smile at me because I am attractive. It would be nice to just get noticed. My DH will actually tell me how sexy my body is and I will believe him whole heartedly. I will be able to wear hip hugger jeans. I will once again be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.

I will be proud of the way I look.

I will be comfortable in my own skin.
Working for 215 lbs. by OCT 31st!
                  Met on 24 Sept!!! :dancing:

Re: What will you look and feel like at goal?

I've decided to take a chance an join in the visualization fun!
What will I look like and feel like at goal?
I will feel free. I'm already starting to more and more with each pound I release. Free from what you ask?
Free from hiding under mounds of fat. Fat that has kept me trapped and held captive for more years then I care to count.
I will face each day with a smile and feel the soft breeze on my face.
No more feeling like a big, ugly monster that turns heads and makes people stare because I'm the fattest woman they've ever seen.
Oh yes, people will stare but I'll turn heads because I'm the most stunningly beautiful woman they've ever seen and everyone will wonder about the secret little smile I have on my beautiful face and about the sparkle of life in my gorgeous big brown eyes.
I will walk with confidence, my head held high and I might even break into song and start singing! I will be happy and at peace with myself.
I will be healthy and work out several times a week.
Swimming and weight lifting and walking too.
Men will flirt with me - and why not! They flirt with me at over 300 plus pounds - when I am 147 I'll be beating the men away with a bat!
The difference will be that I'll feel that they mean the flirting instead of that they are secretly making fun of me.
I will not be stuck up and I will have compassion when I meet someone who reminds me of the old, trapped me - I will find a way to get the message to them that Atkins works when you work Atkins! If I can do it - so can they!
What will I wear? I don't think that will change much - I like my jeans and tshirts - but it will be nice to add cute clothes and sexy little sundresses to my closet and not just tent and car cover sized outfits!
Thank you for sharing in the fantasy I am going to make reality!

Another thing that came to mind is that everyone looks so much younger as they lose weight.

That is something I'm looking forward to also. I look in the mirror and try to figure out what changed...what looks older and why...it would be nice to lose about 10 years and feel "younger".
