LIR be careful on the subways, I once turned around and told someone to stop pushing me and it ended up being a 6'4" hoodlum teenager, who yelled and threated to beat me within an inch of my life, in front of an entire subway full of rush hour ppl. the entire subway went silent, not one person helped me, pushed the alarm, or anything. they all just looked at me like i was a freak. i was so shaken i had to get off at the next stop (and to get off the train that he was still on). I now bite my tongue when being pushed onto the subway

Definitely Sadie. I'm always careful. There are a lot of people out there who are a couple of berries short of a pie.

I like the Dove campaign too. I wish the fitness magazines would use real people. I mean the fitness models are real people, but I look at the women on the cover and still feel that their shape is unattainable. Especially since most of them are in their 20's and to some extent, at my age, some things aren't possible. It would be nice to see fit people of all ages on the cover.

there's so much airbrushing it isn't funny...did you see the picture that Katie Couric got upset about? I was impressed that she went public about it. but what a difference they can make! just goes to show you how much they can really alter.

I have a fat bigot story that still pisses me off when I think about it!

I was out at this blues bar with my husband to see this local singer who has him drooling and completely at her mercy every time we see her..she can belt out a song that can make this straight woman's toes curl and question my own sexual preference ....she is an amazing singer ....ok that said ...I got up went into the bathroom during a break ...while I was washing my hands some chick who had obviously no clue about being overweight made the comment "My God that woman can sing too bad she is so damnnn fat!" OMG I went ballistic on her!!! I was like "Who the fk do you think you are? 'that woman' so hot my husband is in a puddle drooling on himself and she has more talent in her little finger than you have in your entire body ..or you had choosing those clothes!!! " (Ok that was not very smart to say she actually had a nice outfit on but I was so mad I just tossed that out there) ...she had no clue I was ever fat that is for sure ....she based her opinion of this this beautiful, brilliant talented woman on "oh yeah well she has talent but it is marred by the fact she is fat" OMG I was so pissed off ...finally my friend came and dragged me away before security did ....


I told my husband later what went on in the bathroom ...he said through the drool running down his chin "what fat?" ...now that is my man!!!!

As a man....I can tell you that Don't even give that stuff attention. I had several girlfriends who were chunky over the years. I loved them like anyone if not more for being themselves. Lots of us men like a healthy woman...not obese but a little curvy is beautiful.

Gals..don't hurt yourself to follow trends.....when you reach your goal weight and maintain....love yourself and take good care of what mommy gave you and understand that anorexic looking women are disgusting. Not that I am against empathizing with them.
