i eat only three small meals a day, that's because my appetite has decreased on this diet. i eat at 630am, 11am and 530pm. i try not to snack and i never eat after 6pm. if i feel hungry i drink a bottle of flavored water and that fills me up.

Joy you are past the bad part of quitting smoking so keep going. Don't ever entertain even a thought that you can have just one. First off they sell them in packages of 20, and 2nd I never could just smoke one I always ended up smoking all 20 and before I knew it I was back to a pack a day. I quit back in October of 97 for good finally after 3 other tries. After the first couple of weeks I didn't have a problem at all no smoking. Sure every now and then for a while I would get that taste for one, but i just told myself nope you don't want to go thru that again. For the first two weeks after quitting my hair looked like bride of frankenstein though I ran my hands thru it so often it just stuck straight up. haha It is the best thing I ever did for myself. So, good for you for quitting and staying quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I eat every two hours, but very tiny meals each one. I am trying to shrink my stomach back down (I can REALLY pack away the food!) and it works out that I have about 6 small meals a day.
Typical menu recently:
1. one egg, two ounces of meat
2. one cup romaine, one ounce meat and one tablespoon dressing
3. one ounce meat of some type, 1/3 cup of veggie (broccoli or cauliflower) stirfry
4. one cup romaine, one ounce meat, one ounce cheese and one tablespoon dressing
5. 1/3 cup of cottage cheese with splenda and cinnamon, two ounces of above stirfry
6. rest of stir fry, about 3 or 4 ounces
I try to mix things up so my body doesn't get used to the foods I am eating. For a treat sometimes I have sugerfree jello, and I just recently started trying greek yogurt with it, so here's hopeing for that. I drink alot of water and tea and once in a great while a cup of coffee.

I average about 2 times a day...either breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner...a few times I've had all 3 meals, but I've found myself to be less hungry too. Also, even before Atkins, I would always skip a meal and I think I am still in that habit despite the many options on Atkins. When I bring my lunch and snacks with me to work, I do better.

I am usually 3x per day (usually 2 full meals and one or two snacks). I don't think it is the amount of times that you eat that is necessarily relevent. It is eating when you hungry that is important or for sure every 6 hours. Don't starve yourself on this diet or stop eating consistently as that can slow down your losing as well.

I'm with Kent on this... it's feeding your hunger (and not feeding satiety) that is the most important thing, not how many times a day you eat.
