Some more advice from someone who has lost just as much weight . Anyhoo, you are NOT in a stall until one month goes by without any weight OR inches lost. You are not in a stall. You can go ahead and get rid of all the caffeinated products, but I wouldn't. Your body is very used to all that caffeine and you will feel horrible. I would reduce the number of caffeine drinks.

Honestly, I can't see how you drink all that liquid everyday, that is unusual ( I'm suspicious that you drink all that water along with all those other beverages ). Sorry, I guess I am in one of those moods...

I have always been one to drink a LOT of water, and other beverages so it's been nothing too new. And wow, you've done much good work too. I guess I won't argue with you either.

        Re: Carbs in coffee

        Keg,

First, welcome to the board. Second, I'll agree with g-mom and say that you are not stalled. The third week of induction is so common to have a slow down that they even gave is a name Post-Induction Stall Syndrome. But the name is a misnomer, it is more of a pause. It is your body adjusting to your new way of eating. Much of the weight lost in the first two weeks is water. Glycogen (stored glucose) is stored with water, (one molecule glycogen, 2 molecules water), in your liver and muscles. So as your body uses up your glycogen (or glucose reserves) your body will shed that water stored with it. This water loss is what gives the media their propoganda that Atkins is water loss only. Tell only half-truths and people will believe it because it's true.

Anyway (off my soapbox), now that your body has burned through your glycogen stores, now it truly can only get energy from your burned fat (dietary and stored body fat) through ketones. But now all of your weight loss is primarily fat loss and not fat and water together. So that .5 pound is good progress for a tough week. But to get weight loss moving, quick ideas most already mentioned, cut out caffeine, artificial sweeteners, up your water, and most important don't eat too much. As a fellow big man, one issue I had was learning to adjust my portion size as I was less hungry. "Eat until hunger is satisfied." I still had the issue of cleaning my plate even after I was satisfied. Even though it's Atkin's food, too much can slow weightloss, or even make you gain. Atkin's said, "don't count calories, not calories don't count". I hope this helps.

And for the original poster as everyone said, coffee has carbs. Sorry for the thread hijack.
        Jim
