I just tried a breath strip...Listerine cool mint. WOW! Now that's what I call a mint blast!

Betty! I am shocked you would say "chew"
Per page 130 in the BOOK it states
Many products you do not normally think of as foods, such as chewing gum, breath mints, cough syrups and cough drops, are filled with sugar or other caloric sweetners. They must be avoided.

Not always easy, going by the book, is it?
I guess we ALL make our own choices to fit, huh?

my solution to the whole gum sweetener whatever issue is to eat lots of garlic then no one notices the ketobreath...lol or curries... ...however I dont count garlic or spices into my diet so that may not be the best advice I could give either ....

                Look you

honestly I count nothing ....drink coffee and have always eaten a lot of veggies but they were the ones on the list...I can not give up coffee because it calms me and if I did not drink it my coworkers would put it in an IV and force it into me...and no one I ever knew ever got fat eating veggies!!!... but otherwise I am perfect ...

and yes I do consider myself an atkins success...

honestly gum for some people can stimulate and keep stimulating digestive juices ..I chew it but I know it makes me hungry when I do ...

I figure this ....if you can chew gum and make it through induction ok ...well then ok ..if not ....then stop ...easy peasy....

You are not, however, following THE BOOK.

Re: Alternative for sugar free gum?

I did follow the book....and the concept ..and still do ...I just do not count anything and I drink caffeine ....I am perfectly imperfect

my obsession with numbers and counting things was part of the reason I came here in the first place...

I wanted to learn how to eat better ..and not feel like I was punishing myself everytime I made a mistake in my diet...

I adore food and find that eating wide variety of low carb healthy foods I get what I need in the way of satisfaction ....

                      back to gum...

if it works for you do it ..if not don't ...

as far as the book goes....it is a wonderful book ...not a religious one ...
