Hey- I'm wondering if anyone can relate to this? I'm in bed to sleep.. and I am just burning up. I dont feel feverish, but my body temperature feels higher. Thoughts?

Are you sick? Have you been working out? Is the heat on in the house?

For me it's the opposite--I'm much colder than I was before, probably because I'm losing my "insulation"...)

Not every night, but definitely more frequently on Atkins I wake up completely drenched in sweat. Actually, this has been happening since I quit smoking and started running. I don't know the reason for it.

              Same here.

Puma, have you checked the temperature in your home? Is it room temperature? If not maybe you could try a fan (although it might cause head colds in the morning!!)

Yeah, the temperature is fairly normal... (whatever that is in my bro's place. comfortale?). I know I'm not sick, so that's not it either. I thought maybemy metab hasbeen jotled up a bit. That's what I'm hoping.

                    Re: Night time Burning

How old are you? I have been having this happen too and my mother suggested I could be having symptoms relating to early menopause. I'm only 36, but my mother started having symptoms about 10 years before the real thing.

I have also wondered if it is due to changing metabolism. I am still chilly during the day, but sometimes at night I get really hot. I am usually freezing when I go to bed.

                      Re: Night time Burning

I have had this problem virtually my entire adult life. I just get the room as cold as I can (often, in the winter, by opening a window) and pile on the cover. As I get warmer, I start taking them off. Sometimes by the early hours of the a.m., I'm using nothing but a sheet.

And it definitely AIN'T menopause -- early or otherwise!
