  • fresh roasted garlic?

I love the taste of fresh roasted garlic but I noticed on fitday its high in carbs. is this allowed if we add it into our daily totals? I loaned my book out and cant look.

Yep... garlic is allowed. Counts as a veggie, but do include the carbs in your daily totals! Garlic is waaaaaaayyyyy good for you too!

yes Dr Atkins even rated it as the best food for bang for your carbs in terms of micronutiants. Enjoy it but remeber you still have to eat your 3 cups of veggies and can't just fill up on garlic.

Oh lord, this reminds me of an Omaha Italian restaurant (Lo Sole Mios) that served roasted garlic as part of a free appetizer. You eat it with olive oil (spiced up a bit). Dear lord it was good. Sadly, it is meant to be eaten with bread, but was just as good without bread.

              Re: fresh roasted garlic?

next time you got the oven on cooking some veggies or meat wrap some garlic in foil and stick it in there to roast. When it is done you can squirt the roasted garlic paste out of the cloves without the mess of peeling them. the house will smell great and you get double use of your oven energy. There is a great roasted eggplant and garlic "cavier" spread recipe in the recipe data base.

I would not recommend you do this if baking though as garlic cheese cake even low carb doesn't seem to be as good as nongarlic ones are.

Garlic butter for one's ribeye or top sirloin is a way to perfect on perfection. Mmmm... Garlic powder is a must have in my pantry. I haven't tried roasted garlic cloves, but they sound great!

Roasted garlic with roasted asparagus! I love roasted garlic squished all over my steak. Or how about that roasted chicken recipe with 40 cloves of garlic? OMG that is to die for!

I love to roast garlic whenever the oven is on for anything but desset baking.
I'm glad somebody else squrits it on their meat too.

you can roast the garlic and cauliflower togetehr and make great roasted fax taters.
