Re: Anyone 'taking the day off' for Thanksgiving?
For me, there's no such thing as cheating for one day, then planning to return to Atkins the next day. Like MomToEli said, it's just self-delusion. All the times I've vowed to return to Atkins "the next day"...it just doesn't happen. It could be days or weeks (or more!!). "The next day" is always just that: the next day, not today, over and over.
There are lots of Thanksgiving dishes you can have that are Atkins friendly. If you're going someplace where someone else is cooking, you can bring some of your own dishes.
There are also a low carb, sugar free pumpkin pie/pumpkin cheesecake recipes that are just divine. I know how hard it can be...but you might not want to do a "planned" cheat.
I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
