    Re: Mean When Dieting?

Yeah, but you'd think if that was the case, it wouldn't last the whole time through the diet, but only during induction.

I still think the redmeat theory is more closer.

actually that logic is flawed. sice we keep the protein part of our Atkins the same then we would be red meat mean for the rest of our life.

I don't understand. Fear is a state of feeling, an emotion. Adrenaline rushes through the animals before slaughter. Are you saying that their emotions are being transfered to us by eating the meat? How would that work, I wouldn't think their hormones would be compatable with ours. Also I would think that cooking and heat would effect that too.

I eat alot of chicken and turkey, ham, beef, you name it, and I have never had an adrenaline hit because of it. It doesn't make me more aggressive or mean. Being "mean" is a choice. I have control over what I say and do to others.

I've heard of that sort of thing before, but it was being espoused by vegans on a peta website, they basically attributed every bad nasty thing that people did to animals and other people to meat eating, because the violence was being transfered from the meat. They believed that if people would stop eating meat, that hate, cruelty, violence, would all go away, and that everyone would love each other and animals and the world would be peaceful.

It's a nice thought, but I don't have that much faith in the whole of humanity. I asked them if they had any links to any studies on that, they pretty much ignored me. >.<

Anyway, no, I am not mean while I am dieting. I do get kinda cold though, especially my hands.

I was ALOT meaner eating high carb foods because they gave me migraines and irritability. Once I went through sugar detox, I was alot calmer, slept better, had more energy and became ALOT nicer to be around ..

I love meat; and when DH takes me out for a nice juicy prime rib, he can have his way with me ANYTIME.
