    Induction again?
    Heavens no! I agree... I never want to go there again! It was fine while doing it, but once in a lifetime is eeeenough!

      What reasons do I have to keep doing what will extend my life... hummm... how about just simply that. I'm going to live a longer, happier, healthier life.

      That and I want to look stunning in 2010 at my son's wedding....

        WHAT EXCUSE DO YOU HAVE FOR
        NOT EATING
        THE PIES, THE CAKES, THE CANDY AND THE CARB LADEN FOOD
        THAT MADE EVERYONE OF US OVERWEIGHT?
        1. Even though i had a baby 6 mos ago i dont want to still look 5 mos pregnant! I want to look pretty darn good at his 1st birthday party!
        2. I'm tired of my FIL making jokes about my size ( IT AINT FUNNY )
        3. My oldest son has never seen me Skinny.. that needs to change
        4. My mom is diabetic and i dont want to end up with it... i was borderline while pregnant so that increases my chances.
        5.I want to be able to get up the floor w/no problem
        6.I want to be able to shop in regular clothes stores.... i hate having to shop in Ashley Stewart
        7. I know there is a "hot mama" under here but she's buried in the layers of fat which is causing to the low self esteem
        8. I want my DH to be proud that the has the "hot wife" that he use to have.
        9. I want to get rid of the "love handles" "2nd belly" whatever u wanna call it .. it still aint cute
        10. I HATE wearing a GIRDLE!!! to suck everything in....

          My excuse for not eating high carbohydrate foods while on a low carb diet would be that doing so would mean I had gone back on my word.

          I have set a goal to make this a way of life. Eating carbs makes me hungry, which makes me munch all day. If this is the way of life I have chosen, then I will follow it. I will not give in to temptation. I have got to be better than that.

          I am trying to teach my children that if you say you are going to do something, that means you are going to do it. A dish of ice cream may seem trivial until couched in those terms - at which point it becomes a life lesson. Not so trivial.

            not at all! these are YOUR reasons for not eating the high carb junk. some reasons are pretty funny, some not so much but what all the reasons have in common is they are the reason, for that particular member to not eat junk.

              already this morning i have read posts of "why" and "how" and so on. time to bump this thread and get a few more postitive notions going on. it's time to kick the depressing attitudes and feelings to the curb!

              What excuse do you have......
              to not eat the junk? to stay the course?
              because quite frankly, eating right and staying the course gives me something more than just a cleaner healthier body. it gives me a sense of accomplishment. it's the one thing i can control and i'm determined to do it to the best of my ability!

                I used to think my eating was the one thing I COULDN'T control. How wrong I was. It wasn't that I couldn't, it's that I didn't want to. It was easier to eat whatever I wanted, tell myself I was destined to be the fat chick, convince myself that if I lost weight I wouldn't be funny anymore (I mean, I couldn't call myself the plus-size princess of comedy if I lost weight) and say things like we need all shapes and sizes in the world. But the thing is as happy as I am in my life I was sick of those excuses. Now I have new ones, excuses to keep me on this WOE, to keep me losing weight and getting healthy. I won't eat junk food or give up because I'm sick of the big dramatic soap opera every morning that plays out when I'm looking for clothes to wear, first screaming, then crying, then feeling miserable because nothing fits. I'm sick of being out of breath after ONE flight of stairs! I won't eat junk food or give up on this WOE because I don't want to end up like my mother who gave up on eating healthy and in return is a 60 year old woman with an 80 year old body. I will not be my mother, who just turned 60 and already had a toe amputated from diabetes (almost her whole foot!), a triple bypass, and recently a stroke. Who uses a wheelchair now, calls herself "an old lady" and feels she is ready to die. I won't go out that way. At 60, I still wanna be spry, look good, travel the world, be active, be healthy. So I need to start now and not give up. NO MORE EXCUSES for being fat-EVER!

                  What excuse do I have to stay the course?

                  The alternative is so bleak. I've given up mood swings, zits, stomach aches, high blood pressure and high blood sugar along with the carbs. Don't really want any of it back.

                    Jimmie thanks for bringing this post tot he top it was long enough ago that I never got to see it and WOW what a wonderful list of excuses!!!!!!


                    Here are a few for me:

                    I have seven children and two precious grandchildren whom I want to play with and grow old loving and caring for!

                    I want my husband to be proud to introduce me to people.

                    I want children to want me to go places with them not be embarrassed of me.

                    I want to tie my shoes so the bow is in the center not the side because it's the only way I can reach.

                    I want to find joy in doing active family treks and actually be the one who initiates them instead of dreading them.

                    I want to wake up each and everyday embracing life and excited about living it!

                    I can also echo every excuse listed here before me!!!!!!

                    I want it all!!!!!!!!!!!

                      Great thread!

                      Ok....

                      1) I want to look good in jeans
                      2) I want to turn heads - even at 35
                      3) I want my kids to be proud of me
                      4) I want my husband to look at me the same way he looked at me when I was younger (you know the look - like you will never leave the bedroom again - LOL)
                      5) I don't want to have another knee surgery
                      6) I would like to wear a bikini at my own pool without being embarrassed someone might see me
                      7) I want cute underwear and bras again!
                      I want to be able to walk to the back pastures without having to take a break or feel winded
                      9) I want to be around when my kids get older
                      10) I want energy from just being awake - not from something else
                      11) And a belly is NOT meant to hang over the jeans!

                        My reasons:
                        • I am embarrassed every Monday / Tuesday when I put on my uniform and have to tuck it in. YUCK!!!
                        • I want to feel AGAIN like I did in '99 before I fell off the wagon and gain all the weight back +15.
                        • I want to feel sexy for ME and then for my wonderful Hubby.
                        • I want to cash in on my Anniv. present (4-07) of learning to ballroom dance.
                        • I want to be in pictures with my grandbabies and NOT be ashamed to display them.
                        • Most importantly I want to be the me that I know I can be!!!
                        WOW... I feel better and more motativated.

                          I'm tired of lifting my belly to wash underneath it!
                          I broke our futon!
                          I barely fit in the bathtub!
                          My favorite pass-times, gardening and critters, have become hard work!
                          My knees hurt!

                            i love these excuses for not eating junk. that one bite could ruin it for days and who wants to back track? not me.

                            ah... yet another reason and i'm sure it's been said............ i don't want to backtrack! induction done once or twice in a lifetime is plenty of enough!

                            chicklady, hang tough cause you'll be surprised at how much room there is in the tub when those unwanted pounds slid off!

                            oh marty! i have pics of me with my grand daughter and i hate them! i was so ... well i didn't look so good and i was shamed by them.

                            chica, keep the woe going so you can accomplish that want list.

                                Here's another, I don't want a cadillac body wearing down on my volkswagon frame. I don't want to wake up everyday and think that I'm going to die at any moment. I like breathing, not gasping. I enjoy looking in the mirror and seeing both my earrings on my ears without turning my head. I can actually wash all body parts in the shower.
